Policy with regard to students’ organizations
on the IIUI Campuses
The University decided last year that no student
organization will be allowed to hold a function
at the University Campus officially in the University
Auditoriums, Hostels, Buildings, etc. nor will be
allowed to invite political leaders to their functions

An emergency meeting to Vice President, Deans, Deputy
Deans, Directors, Students Advisor (Male & Female),
Provosts (Male & Female), Chairpersons, In-charges
was held on September 3, 2008 under the chairmanship
of the IIUI President, Dr. Anwar H. Siddiqui. All
the Vice Presidents, Deans, Director (Women Campus)
and a number of Chairpersons of the Departments
participated in the meeting. The President informed
the meeting that one of the student’s organization
has put up posters that they are organizing a lecture
series about Ramadhan in which a number of speakers
from the University and outside will deliver lectures.
No permission had been granted to organize these
lectures, nor to the teachers to deliver lectures
in their functions.

The President also apprised the meeting that a new
policy with regard to student unions and student’s
activities at the University Campuses is likely
to be enforced by the Government very soon an the
University will enforce that policy whenever it
is announced. For the time, being the meeting unanimously
agreed to the following:
1.
The existing University policy of not allowing any
students organization to organize function a the
University premises in the name of Academic activities,
Religious occasions, national occasions, or on any
other pretext of will be allowed, nor will they
be allowed to invite their leaders to those meetings.
2.
We shall wait for the Government’s policy with regard
to students unions and students activities on the
campuses and adjust our policy accordingly.
3.
All University teachers were advised not to participate
in any function organized by any of the student’s
organization.
4.
It was agreed that Lectures on “Fazail-e-Ramzan”
will be organized both at the Male Campus as well
as Women Campuses by the University itself, in which
the University’s teachers would deliver lectures
on Fazail-e-Ramzan”
