A group of 55 students of programs BS Library and Information Sciences (LIS), MLIS, & MS from Department of Information Management, University of Sargodha (UoS), visited the Central Library IIUI, accompanied by their faculty members.
The students visited different sections of the Library including circulation section, technical section, periodical section, general collection, book bank, reference collection, United Nations Information Resource Centre and video conference room.
The participants were briefed about the library security system installed in the library to control the book theft, CCTV surveillance system and computer labs. A detailed interactive session was arranged about open source integrated library system KOHA, used for different library operations. Students showed keen interest in the different modules of KOHA and praised the services offered by library to its patrons.
