Sharī‘ah Academy of International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI) and the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF, Pakistan ) have agreed upon mutual cooperation in the field of Child Protection.
A meeting between the representatives of both sides was held at Faisal Masjid Campus of the University.
The meeting was attended by Ms. Susan Andrew from UNICEF (Pakistan) and Prof. Dr. Farkhanda Zia, Director-General Sharī‘ah Academy along with Academy’s senior faculty and staff members.
During the meeting matters of mutual interest were discussed and it was decided to resume the cooperation between the both institutions and to organize a series of workshops, seminars and conferences and training courses on child protection.
The cooperation between the two organizations goes back to 2017 as a one-day seminar and a three-day international conference on the rights of the child in Islam were organized jointly by Shariah Academy and UNICEF (Pakistan).
