Justice is a pre-requisite for an exquisite society and it is an attribute of developed and civilized societies, said Dr. Ahmed Yousif Al-Draiweesh, President, International Islamic University, Islamabad (IIUI).
He was addressing the concluding ceremony of a seminar on “ International Humanitarian Law for Judges and Prosecutors” jointly organized by Shariah Academy of the IIUI and International Committee of the Red Cross (IRCR)for the participants of academy’s 58th training program of judges.
The IIUI President hailed the effort of Shariah Academy and termed the course as a constructive activity. He also highlighted the goals and objectives of the university and shed light on the efforts of its outreach programs, its training courses through constituent units and arrangements of the moots for exploring solution to the problems being faced my Muslim societies.
The ceremony was also attended by the ICRC officials including its resource persons of the seminar. Earlier, Dr. Muhammad Munir, Vice President, IIUI also delivered a lecture on International Humanitarian Law and Siyar.
