Islam is a religion of peace and harmony while, there is no place of extremist mindset in Islam said Prof. Dr. Ahmed Yousef Al Draiweesh, President, International Islamic University Islamabad. He was addressing during the concluding ceremony of a conference titled “Tradition of Adoption, Innovation and Transmission in Islamic Culture and Civilization” held at Bahauddin Zakriya University, Multan. Dr. Al Draiweesh urged students to remain focused on their studies and advised them to follow true values of Islam and Islamic teachings. He further said that brotherhood, pace and harmony are the base of Islamic civilization and Islam spreads message of peace and harmony for the entire world and it’s our responsibility to spread this message across the globe. He stressed students to play their effective role in progress and prosperity of the country. Dr. Tahir Amin, Vice Chancellor Bahauddin Zakriya University, Multan addressing during the concluding session of conference said that presently Muslim World is facing a huge challenge of extremism and terrorism and it is our responsibility to portray real face of Islamic Civilization to the entire world. He added that we should guide our youth regarding true values of Islamic Civilization so that they can better understand Islam and its teachings. He lauded the role of Dr. Al Draiweesh, President, IIUI for his efforts in spreading universal message of Islam across the globe.
Director General, Islamic Research Institute (IRI, IIUI) stressed upon teachers to raise awareness among students about the Islamic values. He said that adequate knowledge about Islamic culture, civilization and values would surely help younger generation make rapid progress in the world. Speaking on the occasion, Prof. Dr. Abdul Qadus Suhaib, Chairman, Dept. of Islamic Studies, BZU, said that respect for humanity was basic principle of Islamic values. As Holy Quran clearly remarks that all men are equal however one can get preference on the basis of having quality of Taqwa. He said that Islam also stressed on Hussan e Akhlaq, which is a supreme quality with capacity to win hearts of every one. Islam spread in the world within just 23 years and it was due to Hussan e Akhlaq of our Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), he added. Other speakers including Dr. Kashif Mehmood, Dr. Asmat Naaz, Dr. Samina Maqbool Niazi, Dr. Mudassira Sbreen, Muhammad Munir, Rustam Khan and Dr. Razia Shabana also addressed the conference.
