IRI TO HOLD FOCUS GROUP MEETING TO DISCUSS INTERFAITH HARMONY ON (WEDNESDAY)

AS MANY AS 40 PARLIAMENTARIANS, ACADEMICIANS & RELIGIOUS LEADERS TO PARTICIPATE

Islamic Research Institute (IRI) of International Islamic University, Islamabad (IIUI) will organize a meeting of focus group on promotion of interfaith harmony and coexistence in the light of Paigham e Pakistan declaration, which will be attended by more than 30 parliamentarians, academicians, civil society representatives and religious leaders.

Paigham e Pakistan declaration was announced few months back in a program organized by the IRI, where more than 30 scholars, in presence of President of Pakistan, in a unanimous decree had declared suicide attacks, armed insurgency against the state and the use of force in the name of enforcing Shariah as ‘Haram’ or forbidden in Islam.

Federal Minister for religious affairs, Sardar Muhammad Yousaf is likely to chair the meeting. Details of the meeting will be shared with media at 4pm.
