The Iqbal International Institute for Research & Dialogue (IRD) of International Isalmic University Islamabad (IIUI) Thursday arranged a book launching ceremony of its recently published book titled “Rebellion: A Comparative Study of Islamic and Modern International Law” by Dr. Sadia Tabassum, Assistant Professor, Department of Law.
The ceremony was presided over by IIUI Rector, Prof. Dr. Masoom Yasinzai who congratulated and lauded the author and the IRD team for publishing another important book. He called upon the academic fraternity to promote cultre of writing and reading books. He opined that a best research deserves a book that also enlightens mind of a large number of its readers.
On the occasion, the author, presenting an overview of the book told that the book examines issues of Jus ad bello or legal status of rebellion in Islamic theology, law and contemporary international legal regime. She said that the book also elaborates Jus in bello or a law of conduct of hostilities for rebellion in Islamic legal discourse as well as the contemporary international humanitarian law.
