Department of Arabic Linguistics & Literature
PhD Arabic (Literature & Linguistics) 3 years	Male & Female	1- MS/M.Phil from IIUI, 2- M.A. (Arabic) IIU (18 years),3- M. Phil from other Universities in Pakistan, 4- M.A. (Arabic) with thesis from recognized Arab Universities with minimum CGPA 3.00/4.00 in semester system or 65% marks in annual system. (For Sr. No. 3 & 4 the Faculty shall offer preparatory courses).
MS Arabic (Literature & Linguistics) 2 years	Male & Female	1-B.A. (Hons)/BS-(4 years) Arabic from IIU, 2-M.A. (Arabic) from IIU (2 years), 3-M.A (Arabic) from other Universities with minimum CGPA 2.50/4.00 in semester system or 60% marks in annual system. 4. Shahadah-tul-Almiyah from recognized Wafaqs’ Board with 60% marks along with Equivalence Certificate from HEC. However, S. No.3&4 will have to study two semesters preparatory courses to enhance their skill to understand regular subjects of the program.

Students who lack the requisite linguistic proficiency in either Arabic or English shall be admitted in the respective ALT or ELT Units for preparatory courses in these languages. PhD in Computer Science 3 years	Male &Female	MS/M.Phil (CS/SE/IT) or equivalent disciplines 2 years degree program (minimum 30 credit hours) with research thesis securing minimum 3.0/4.0 CGPA in semester system or with 65% marks in annual system. The equivalent degree holders have to complete pre-requisite determined by department.
PhD in Software Engineering 3 years	Male & Female	MS/M.Phil (Software Engineering) or equivalent with research thesis securing minimum CGPA 3.00/4.00 or with 65% marks in annual system. The equivalent degree holders have to complete pre-requisite determined by department.
MS in Computer Science 2 years	Male & Female	BS 4 years in CS/SE/IT/CE degree program or equivalent having completed minimum 130 credit hours, OR MCS / M.Sc (CS), or equivalent with minimum CGPA 2.50/4.00 or 60% marks in annual system. OR BCS (Hons) / BCS 3-years with minimum CGPA 2.50/4.00 or 60% marks in annual system. However, the student will be required to spend two additional semesters to study the deficient courses determined by the department.

Student will be required to complete the deficiency of difference of earned credit hours and total of 130 credit hours. OR BS/BE (Computer/Electronics/Communication) engineering degree or M.Sc. (Electronics / Communication) with minimum CGPA 2.50/4.00 in semester system or 60% marks in annual system. Student will be required to complete the deficiency courses.

The successful candidates applying from relevant disciplines like Agricultural Sciences, Biological Sciences, Botany, Zoology, Chemistry, Forestry, Soil Sciences, Wildlife and Earth Sciences (Geography, Geology, GIS, Geophysics, and Metrology etc.) will have to pass deficiency courses of BS Environmental Science (Non-Credit) as prerequisite.

MS Shariah (Islamic Law & Jurisprudence) * 2 Years	Male	M.A Islamic Studies (Sixteen Years Education) or equivalent/M.AUsul-ud-Din /BS Islamic Studies/Shariah (Four Years Program)/ BA Usul-ud-Din (Honors) or (Al-Shahada Al-almia (HEC Recognized, along with Metric, FA, BA Degrees) with CGPA 2.5/4.00 in semester system or 60% marks in annual system. Note: Candidates other than IIU have to study additional course(s) before starting their regular core courses.
LL.B (Hons) Shariah & Law 5 Years	Male & Female	HSSC or equivalent with minimum 50% marks along with passed Law Admission Test (LAT). Note: Selected candidates shall undergo a language proficiency test for English and Arabic to determine their level in both languages. Candidates may have to take additional semester(s) in case they do not attain required level of proficiency in one or both languages. Such additional semester shall not be counted towards their regular degree duration.
Note:All MS/ LL.M Shariah& Law and its allied programs will be offered in Arabic & English mediums, However proficiency in both languages and aptitude will be required. *The students admitted in in any MS/ LLM degree program who are not the graduates of IIU will have to study additional courses of Shariah/ Arabic language/ Law as per IIU rules and as per the recommendations of the admission committee (The period spend for languages and additional courses will be additional to the minimum period of the degree).
