RDC ORGANIZES ISLAMIC ORIENTATION PROGRAM

Regional Dawah Centre (RDC), Karachi of International Islamic University, Islamabad (IIUI) organized an Islamic Orientation Program for the Madrsah Teachers of Sindh.
The program was organized by the centre in collaboration with Jamia tul Uloum ul Islamia Sindh which was attended by 140 teachers of Madris hailing from different cities across the province.
Inaugural ceremony of the program was joined by famous poet Professor Innayat Ali Khan while it was also joined by the RDC Inchagre Dr. Shehzad Channa, course coordinator Agha Abdul Samad.
Concluding ceremony was presided over by Dawah Acaemy’s Director Professor Dr. Sohail Hassan.
The course lecturers include Professor Dr. Noor Ahmed Shahtaz, Munir Ahmed Rashid, Maulana Amir ud Din Mehr, Maulana Agha Muhammad, Professor Dr. Sohail Hassa, Professor Dr. Ishaq Zakriya, Professor Dr. Mehmood Ghaznavi, Hfiz Lutf ullah Bhutto, Professor Dr. Sana Ullah Bhutto, Professor Gul Muhammad Shah Bukhari, Maulana Mufto Wali Muhammad and Professor Muhammad Saleem Mughal.
Participants termed the program as vital addition to their skills and knowledge and urged that such constructive activities be continued in future.
Muslims all over the world celebrate Eid ul Azha to memorize the great sacrifice of Hazrat Ibrahim (A.S) and his son Hazrat Ismail (A.S). This occasion of Eid brings blessings of Allah Almighty in recognition of sacrifice of both great Prophets (A. S) who was most obedient to Allah. This was said by Dr. Mohammad Bashir Khan Vice President academics, International Islamic University, Islamabad in his Eid greeting message to employees of the university. He presents his heartiest and special felicitations on the occasion of Eid-ul-Azha to all. In his message Dr. Bashir further shows his deep hope that all the officers, teaching faculty and staff members of IIUI will celebrate Eid-ul-Azha with the true spirit of sacrifice and according to traditions of Islam and to the strong courage to follow the sunnah of Prophet Ibrahim (A.S). He, on this auspicious occasion of Eid-ul-Adha, also prays for the peace, harmony and tranquillity of the people of Islamic Republic of Pakistan in particular and the whole Muslims Ummah in General.
Department of Protocol and Public Relations, International Islamic University, Islamabad arranged a farewell gathering followed by dinner in honour of its outgoing head Mr. D. K Hairan Khattak (Additional Director). In the farewell gathering, services of Mr. Khattak during his over 25 year of association with the IIUI were highly appreciated and acknowledged. It was said that Mr. Hairan Khattak, in addition to his professional responsibilities at the university contributed a lot in the spheres of social and academic activities in the country and abroad. His contributions particularly were admired for the innovation of P&PR and making efforts to reshape the department on advance lines.
While expressing his views, Hairan Khattak thanked to participants of the farewell gathering to arrange such a graceful event in his honour. He also shared his experiences and memorable occasions from his 25 year in the university. Khattak said serving long time in IIUI is one of his precious assets of his life which never be forgotten. “University is a second home which always cares and blesses to his employees; he always considers university a mother who feed her children in any circumstances”. He was of the views. It is pertinent to mention here that, Hairan Khattak also served Dawah Academy IIUI, where he contributed up-to the mark and launching number of new programs included new correspondence courses are on his credit.

PAKISTAN’S HELP FOR ENDING TERRORISM IN SRI LANKA HAILED Sri Lankan Acting High Commissioner speaks at IIU

Without cooperation and help of Pakistan by virtue of defense relations, Sri Lanka could never get rid of terrorism it has been facing during the previous decades, said EAS Wijayanthi Edirisinghe, Acting High Commissioner of Sri Lanka.
She was addressing a seminar organized by Department of Politics and International Relations of International Islamic University (IIU) held at Faisal Masjid Campus of the varsity.
“Pakistan and Sri Lanka enjoy best defense relations,” she said adding that both countries would further enhance bilateral ties in future by virtue of recent MOUs between both the countries in the fields of sports, shipping, tourism, economic development, anti-narcotics, defense and disaster management.
Sri Lankan Acting High Commissioner furthered that Pakistan and Sri Lanka were important partners not only in promoting bilateral trade and economic interactions but also in enhancing regional economic integration.
She told that Pakistan was the second largest trading partner in SAARC region and Sri Lanka had been the first country to sign a Free Trade Agreement (FTA) with Pakistan. She added that trade between the two countries was expected to increase upto US$ 1 Billion.
Speaking on the occasion, IIU President Dr. Ahmed Yousif Al-Draiweesh highlighted the importance of the programme while terming it “a healty activity” he emphasized that such activities be arranged more frequently and hoped that it would help the students broaden their exposure. He stressed that the IR students must be fully aware of the global as well as indigenous dynamics especially governing system and international ties of different countries. He appreciated the department for organizing the program.
Dr. Manzoor Khan Afridi, Head of the Department said that Pakistan was helping Sri Lanka in educating its students on military affairs and the MOUs between the two countries should further enhance the mutual cooperation. “Thirty Sri Lankan students would join IIU soon for higher studies,” said Dr. Afridi.
The event was also attended by Dr. Amna Mehmood, Associate Professor at the Department, Masood Khattak, the Program Coordinator, and other faculty members.
Earlier, Wijayanthi Edirisinghe and Dr. Al-Draiweesh discussed issues of mutual interest and educational cooperation during a meeting held at office of Dr. Al-Draiweesh.
The meeting was also attended by the Dean, Faculty of Social Sciences, Dr. Nabi Bux Jummani who apprised that a Sri Lankan university was interested in MOUs with IIU. On the occasion, the Acting High Commissioner and The IIU President agreed that steps to enhance bilateral educational ties would be taken. Wijayanthi Edirisinghe assured that she would be pleased to liaise with the universities of her country about the unprecedented vision of IIU and to encourage bilateral relations between IIU and Sri Lankan universities. Dr. Al-Draiweesh, while briefing about IIU and its vision said that IIU, following rich Islamic values, had been working for promotion of peace and developing enlightened and tolerant minds, for there was no place for terrorism in Islam. He said that violent attitudes could be curbed through education only.

According to an announcement released from the International Islamic University Dean Faculty of Shariah and Law Professor Dr. Muhammad Tahir Hakeem would deliver the sermon on the occasion and lead the Eid Ul Adha prayer on Friday, 7:30 am.
NEW STUDENTS WELCOMED AT IIUI, ENTHRALLING CEREMONY WINS STUDENTS’ HEARTS

Amid welcome week activities at International Islamic University, Islamabad (IIUI), a welcome party was held here at the male campus of the university which was attended by more than 2 thousand newly admitted students.
The event was organized by the Students’ Advisor Officer of varsity at activity centre which was attended by its Vice President Dr. Muhammad Bashir Khan as Chief Guest.
“IIUI is an exemplary seat of learning which has credit to produce great names of world and it is focusing with full zest to nurture the bright young minds of Muslim Ummah in the light of Islam’s teachings” said Dr. Muhammad Bashir khan and added that IIUI is working to produce balanced and harmonious personalities who acquire quality education at IIUI integrated with teachings of Islam.
Introducing the varsity to the news students, the VP IIUI furthered that internationalization, knowledge of Islamic teachings and dissemination of peace across the world are core objectives of IIUI. Dr. Bashir khan told that as many as 25-thousand students submitted applications in more than 40 departments of the university, while only 3 thousand bright minds were selected who will be soon proved as proud of Muslim Ummah. He furthered that separate campus for the 12-thousand female students of varsity is distinction of varsity. The IIUI VP urged the young students to implement Islamic teachings in practical lives and termed Islam as solution to all problems.
Dr. Hafiz Abid Masood, chief organizer of the event and Students Advisor said in his opening remarks that youth is ray of hope for Muslim Ummah as they have bright minds and added that glitter in the young eyes is an omen of future success.
He maintained that Ambassadors of IIUI (graduates) could be seen everywhere across the world who are holding key positions in many countries. He also apprised the participants regarding curricular, extracurricular activities and sports opportunities at varsity. The students took keen interest in a precise documentary which was shown during the ceremony; it covered the functions of Students Advisor Office and introduction to university.
On the occasion, cash prizes of 1,000 specially granted by the President IIUI Dr. Ahmed Yousif Al-Draiweesh were distributed among the students, while more than 50 gifts from the Students Advisor office were also given to the students after a lucky draw.
The ceremony was also attended by the Deans, Director General, Directors, HoDs, senior faculty members and administrative staff of the varsity. The event ended with national anthem.
15 IIUI STUDENTS SELECTED FOR SCHOLARSHIPS IN KSA: IIUI PRESIDENT

A total of 15 students of International Islamic University, Islamabad (IIUI) have been selected for scholarship studies at Imam Muhammad ibn Saud Islamic University in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, said President IIUI on Wednesday.
IIUI President Dr. Ahmed Yousif Al-Draiweesh said this while addressing a ceremony held for newly inducted foreign students at university. He said “as many as 30 students from Sri Lanka would soon join IIUI for studies”.
He maintained that students of more than 40 countries acquiring quality education at IIUI where they get knowledge integrated with teachings of Islam. He furthered that a number if IIUI students holding mentionable positions across the world in many countries who are ambassadors and proud of IIUI.
While welcoming the new foreign students, IIUI President said that new students are ambassadors of university who have to disseminate message of peace and moderation across the globe.
“We have trust in abilities of our students and university would keep striving to provide constructive platforms and scholarships to its bright students” said President IIUI. He advised them to negate and discourage violent attitudes and negative thoughts, and work for establishing a peaceful society.
The ceremony was also attended by Vice President Dr. Muhammad Bashir Khan, Deans, Director General, Directors, senior faculty members and Head Department of IIUI Alumni, Dr. Hafiz Muhammad Anwar.
On the occasion, Dr. Hafiz Muhammad Anwar and Dean Faculty of languages and Literature Dr. Munawar Iqabal Gondal also addressed the ceremony. Dr. Anwar apprised the participants about the initiative taken by his department for students.
At the end, students were asked question and those who gave right answers were awarded with gift by the President IIUI.
SHARIAH ACADEMY: ISLAMIC LAW ORIENTATION COURSE FOR LEGAL FRATERNITY CONCLUDES AT MIRPUR

A week long 50th Islamic Law orientation course for legal fraternity of AJK by Shariah Academy of International Islamic University (IIU) concluded at Mirpur.
The course was organized in collaboration with the District Bar Association, Mirpur.
The Shariah academy has a privilege to organize such fifty orientation courses for lawyers across the country in which 2192 lawyers participated.
Number of important topics were discussed including The Qur’an, The Sunnah, Ijma‘, Qiyas & Ijtihad, The Higher Objectives of Islamic Law, Islamisation of Laws in Pakistan: The Hudood Ordinances, Islamisation of Laws in Pakistan: The Qisas and Diyat Ordinance, The Protection of Women Act 2006 and various other significant topics as well.
Dr. Abdul Haye Abro, Head Higher Institute of Fatwa, Shari‘ah Academy presided over the closing program, while President District Bar Association was the Chief Guest of the said program.
The Chief Guest highlighted that the objective of the course is to fill the gap and deficiency in LL.B curricula and to introduce Islamic legal Philosophy and Islamic Judicial system. He also emphasized that participation in this course is not end to the study of Islamic law, rather it was a start.
Dr. Abdul Haye Abro thanked the President District Bar Association and other management of the Bar, for their cooperation and assistance during the course.
During the course, highly profiled recourse persons were requested to share their knowledge with the participants of this course. Lectures were delivered by Dr. Muhammad Munir, Director, Shari‘ah Academy, Dr. Abdul Haye Abro, Associate Professor, Shari‘ah Academy, Dr. Habib Ur Rehman, Assistant Professor Shari‘ah Academy, Dr. Asmatullah, Islamic Research Institute, Mr. Muhammad Mushtaq, Assistant Professor, Faculty of Shari‘ah & Law, IIUI, Muhammad Asghar Shahzad, Shari‘ah Academy, International Islamic University, Islamabad.
Earlier, the program was inaugurated by Dr. Muhammad Munir, Director, Shari‘ah Academy. On this occasion, the secretary District Bar Association, Mirpur, thanked Shari‘ah Academy for playing a great role by organizing such courses.
The participants, of the course recognized the importance of this course and earnestly requested the Academy to launch such training courses regularly in the future.
PRESIDENT IIUI CHAIRS MEETING TO DISCUSS VARSITY MATTERS

President International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI) Dr. Ahmed Yousif Al-Draiweesh chaired a meeting with varsity high officials including Vice Presidents, Deans, Director General, Directors and veteran faculty members.
Dr. Al-Draiweesh stressed for maintaining and enhancing academic excellence and urged all the officials to ensure provision of healthy and peaceful milieu at university.
He directed that cleanliness at the campuses be ensured and supervisors be deputed to monitor the hygienic food preparation at university cafeterias.
Appreciating the efforts for making IIUI campuses beautiful and green, he urged the concerned officials to take further steps to make IIUI campuses more beautiful.
Future plans of university and ways to further enhance academic excellence were also discussed.
President International Islamic University, Islamabad (IIUI) Dr. Ahmed Yousif Al-Draiweesh inspected administration block cafeteria to ensure the food cleanliness and hygienic parameters for healthy food at university.
A number of university high officials including Director General were part of the team of President IIUI where he directed to the concerned cafeteria staff to ensure hygienic measures. He added that no room will be given to the adulterated food sellers at varsity and strict actions would be taken.
Dr. Al-Draiweesh also visited the rooms of different departments and directed that hygienic measures be taken at individual and collective level.
IIUI President said on the occasion that cleanliness is salient feature of Islam and university is keen to provide healthy food to its employees and students. He maintained that special measures would be continued to observe the hygienic atmosphere across the campus.
IIUI EMPLOYEE CRICKET TEAM DEFEATS AIOU TEAM IN FINAL, WINS TITLE OF TOURNAMENT

Employee cricket team of International Islamic University, Islamabad won title of cricket tournament held at Allama Iqbal Open University, Islamabad by defeating AIOU team in final match. The IIUI team was led by Kashif Mehmood also clinched title of best player of the tournament and best batsman by Muhammad Fida and Raja Hamid Nawaz respectively.
Dr. Shahid Siddiqui, Vice Chancellor of Allama Iqbal Open University Islamabad awarded team trophy and distributed prizes among players of winning team. He also congratulated to team of IIUI. Islamic University administration and staff expressed their felicity on this success and paid high tribute to team members of cricket team. They also wished them best of luck in their future tournaments and competitions.
DCW, IPD ORGANIZE ISLAMIC ORIENTATION PROGRAM FOR PRINCIPALS OF IIUI SCHOOLS

A week long an Islamic Orientation Program for principals, in-charges and coordinators of IIUI schools from across the Pakistan concluded at varsity. The IPO was attended about forty participants which jointly organized by the Dawah Center for Women (DCW) and Institute of Professional Development (IPD) International Islamic University, Islamabad. The concluding ceremony was graced as chief guest by Director Dawah Academy, Dr. Sohail Hassan. It was also attended by director IPD, Dr. Saeed ul Hassan Chishti, In-Charge DCW Mrs. Shagufta Omar and other officials. In his address Dr. Sohail Hassan termed IOP a vital step to achieve the core goals of the establishment of IIUI schools. He extended his hope that, the participants would utilize their learning to convey the true message of Islam.
He urged participants to hold such IOPs in their respective areas which would be highly supported by Dawah Academy particularly in southern Punjab and rural Sindh. Dr. Sohail advised them to involve students in such activities of preaching of Islam in true sense while be in their schools. Dr. Saeed ul Hassan paid high thanks to Dawah Academy on organizing such a fruitful IPO and giving opportunity to participants who are strengthening the core message of IIUI.
Mrs. Shagufta Omar thanked to Dawah Academy and IPD on providing full support and cooperation by which this IPO concluded with success. She also highlighted the various features and salient aspects of IPO and vowed to expand its circle. Mrs Faryal Umbreen presented detail report of IPO and appreciated the inputs of participants and staff members to make this session successful. The course was aimed at providing training with Islamic aspect for the positive outcomes in the field of education; it was also included study tours and team work also. The participants expressed their great felicity and termed it very useful in their career.
PRESIDENT IIUI CALLS ON AMBASSADOR OF SAUDI ARABIA

President International Islamic University, Islamabad (IIUI) Dr. Ahmed Yousif Al-Draiweesh called on Ambassador of Saudi Arabia to Pakistan Abdullah Marzouk Al-Zahrani on Friday.
Matters pertaining to mutual cooperation for progress of IIUI and other issues of mutual interest were discussed in the meeting, while Director Maktab tu Dawah, Islamabad Muhammad Saad bin Al- Doussri also participated in the meeting.
The Ambassador lauded the services of IIUI and assured of full cooperation for the improvement of education. He added that mutual cooperation among IIUI and Saudi universities would be encouraged.
During the meeting, Dr. Al-Draiweesh felicitated the Ambassador on extra ordinary arrangements in regard of Hajj for Pakistani pilgrims. He also briefed him regarding IIUI’s role and services in the prevailing situation and told that students of more than 40 countries acquire quality education at IIUI in a peaceful milieu with a blend of Islamic teachings.
He furthered that mutual cooperation between IIUI and Imam Muhammad Bin Saud University of Saudi Arabia has been proved as a milestone for improvement in educational standards.
Meanwhile, a delegation of Saudi Majlis-e-Shoora headed by Professor Atalla Abohassan visited Faisal Masjid campus of IIUI and called on President IIUI Dr. Al-Draiweesh on Friday. The other delegates include Professor Nasir AbdulAziz Al-Daoud, Professor Al-Shaikh Salaman Al-Majid and Engineer Nasir Al-otaibi.
On the occasion, Dr. Al-Draiweesh briefed the delegation about IIUI and apprised them about the role and services of its constituent units. The delegation also visited the Islamic Research Institute of the university where Dr. Muhammad Zia ul Haq, Director of institute, welcomed the delegates and President IIUI. He briefed on the occasion regarding the research and activities of the institutes, while delegation also visited the printing press of the institute.

KSA RELIGIOUS AFFAIRS MINISTRY OFFICIALS CALL ON PRESIDENT IIUI

A group of officials from the Ministry of Religious Affairs of Kingdom of Saudi Arabia along with Director Maktaba Tu Dawah Islamabad Abu Saad Mohamed Bin Saad Al-Doussri, called on President International Islamic University Islamabad.
Issues of mutual interest and matters of cooperation in education and progress of IIUI were discussed in the meeting.
The delegation also visited Faculty of Shariah and Law of the university where it met with the Deans of the Faculties and senior Faculty members including Dr. Tahir Hakeem, Dr. Haroon ur Rasheed, Dr. Nabi Bux Jummani and Dr. Hafiz Muhammad Bashir.
On the occasion, Dr. Al-Draiweesh apprised the delegates on IIUI educational projects, activities, services in form of constructive programs and future plans of the university.
He also briefed the delegates regarding nature of work of the constituent units of the university and told that Dawah Academy, Islamic Research Institute, Shariah Academy and Iqbal International Institute for Research and Dialogue are serving Muslim Ummah.
The delegation lauded the services of IIUI and termed it as a vital institute of Muslim world while saying that it is playing significant role in nurturing the young minds in the lights of teachings of Islam.
PRESIDENT IIUI URGES FOR CARE BEFORE RELEASING FATWA

President International Islamic University, Islamabad (IIUI) Dr. Ahmed Yousif Al-Draiweesh has urged the Muftis to examine the issue in depth before releasing Fatwa.
He was addressing to course participants of Shariah Academy in a lecture at Faisal Masjid campus. Participants of the course were the Mufties across the country who have been inducted for it in the Academy for three months.
Dr. Al-Draiweesh maintained that releasing Fatwa is a matter of significant responsibility because a Mufti releases it as a Naib.
He also shed light on Fiqh e Islami and opined that contemporary situation demands that new issues be deeply examined in the light of Quran and Sunnah. He also mentioned Hadiths regarding care before releasing Fatwa.
President IIUI stressed that difference of opinion does not mean a personal clash and no words are final words. He furthered that respect of other scholars is also responsibility of all Mufties. He said scholars of Muslim Ummah are the significant source of Muslims’ guidance as they are the people who are responsible for the legacy of Islam.
The lecture was also joined by Dr. Muhammad Munir Director Shariah Academy, and other IIUI scholars. Earlier, Dr. Munir gave detailed introduction of President IIUI and lauded his services for Muslim Ummah.
IIUI SCHOLAR DR. TARIQ JAVED ACHIEVES RESEARCH GRANT OF 1.59 MILLION

Dr. Tariq Javed, Assistant Professor, Department of Mathematics, Faculty of Basic and Applied Sciences, (FBAS) International Islamic University, Islamabad (IIUI) clinched competitive research grant of Rs. 1.59 million under project of National Research Program for Universities (NRPU) of Higher Education Commission (HEC) Pakistan.
The Project was submitted to HEC after meticulous efforts of the IIUI ORIC team. This is another research grants in the university. The Office of Research, Innovation and Commercialization (ORIC), faculty members and officials of IIUI, has congratulated Dr. Tariq Javed on achieving this grant.

Education has power to change fate of nations, said President International Islamic University, Islamabad (IIUI) Dr. Ahmed Yousif Al-Draiweesh on Wednesday.
Addressing an orientation session at Faisal Masjid Campus of university, held for newly admitted female students of Masters, Dr. Al-Draiweesh said educated Muslim women playing significant role in progress of Muslim world. “Youth must develop a close relationship with book as electronic sources cannot be alternative to books” He added.
The event was attended by more than 500 female students, Chairperson Politics IR & Dr. Sadaf Farooq, Dr. Sabahat Mushtaq of Urdu Department, faculty members and administrative officers.
President IIUI was of the view that youth is a ray of hope for Muslim world, knowing the fact IIUI always strives for fulfilling its objective to produce well balanced, educated and contemporary minds integrated with teachings of Islam.
He urged the female students to take active part in constructive activities at university, while he vowed that all the students and specially the talented ones would have number of platforms and opportunities through IIUI where they would be able to prove their abilities and broaden the exposure. He asked the new students to remain active in curricular, co-curricular activities, conferences and seminars.
“ Presently, a number of IIUI graduates holding key posts across the world who are our proud as they are face of IIUI and ambassadors as well”, said Dr. Al-Draiweesh. He advised the students to keep salient points on priority which include respect of teachers, obey IIUI rules and cooperate with staff, and also assured that problems of students at any level would be solved on priority basis.
The IIUI President also directed the faculty to provide full cooperation to the students and involve them in constructive activities such as meaningful research and nurture them in a way so they may become a source of dissemination of Islam’s message of peace across the world.
Earlier, Assistant Directors Rafeeqa Nazli and Shazia Sarwar briefed the students about academic system at campus, IIUI rules and scholarships, they also assured of every possible support to the students.
DIRECTORATE OF DISTANCE EDUCATION HOLDS TRAINING SESSION ON LEARNING MANAGEMENT SYSTEM

Higher Education Commission, Pakistan has included International Islamic University, Islamabad (IIUI) in its Distance Education Project and IIUI has been equipped with Learning Management System (LMS).
In-order to make faculty members fluent with LMS, Directorate of Distance Education held training session for teachers and staff in which Mr. Junaid Azhar, Web Master, IIUI was the resource person. The training session was joined by faculty members (male and female) of the Department of Education and Department of History & Pakistan Studies IIUI.
LMS is a latest application software to strengthen distance education system to correspondence and communication with students particularly for the registration, administration, documentation, tracking, evaluating, reporting, delivery of courses and training programmes by using computers.
Prof. Dr. N. B. Jumani, Dean Faculty of Social Sciences & Director, Distance Education programme highlighted the importance of Learning Management System and advised all the participants to put serious efforts to learn LMS software with zeal & zest. He lauded the efforts of Mr. Junaid Azhar for conduct of successful training programme.
Dr. Ahmed Yousif Al-Draiweesh, President International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI) visited Faculty of Basic & Applied Sciences (FBAS) to review the status of commencement of new semester including schedule and time table etc. He also discussed the matters with faculty members to enhance academic excellence and assured full cooperation in regard to demands and opinion of the faculty.
The meeting with President IIUI joined by Dean FBAS, Dr. Muhammad Sher and Chairmen of other departments and faculty members.
During the meeting, President IIUI was briefed about the joining of new students at FBAS and special arrangement made to facilitate new comers at varsity.
Dr. Muhammad Sher further threw light on the up-coming activities and goals of faculty planned to be held in current semester. He also vowed that faculty would keep delivering maximum according to the expectations.
On the occasion, President IIUI also assured that all the resources would be utilized to provide an ideal working milieu to the teachers. He also urged that departments should start work on innovative projects while adding that the departments would be provided full support in this regard.

An Islamic Orientation Program for the Administrative officials in field of education kicked-off here at the International Islamic university, Islamabad (IIUI).
The training and orientation program has been initiated with joint efforts of Dawah Centre for Women (DCW) and Institute for Professional Development of IIUI.
The course is aimed at providing training with Islamic aspect for the positive outcomes in the field of education. Participants of the course are Principals and higher officials of IIUI Schools project of varsity.

A 45 member delegation of 87th Islamic Orientation Program for Aima & Khutba of Pakistan Forces from Dawah Academy of International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI) visited new campus of the university.
The delegates of the course were Aima & Khutba hailing from Army, Air force and Navy who were welcomed at varsity by the Additional Director Protocol and Public Relations D K Hairan Khattak and was also briefed by him.
In the briefing, Hairan Khattak said that Pakistani educational system be formulated according to the teachings of Islam. He described that IIUI is nurturing young minds of Ummah in the light of teachings of Islam and producing balanced humans who acquire education at varsity integrated with teachings of Islam.
He made participants aware that university has unique and prominent position where Islamic values are taken great care. He said IIUI is playing vital role in nation building and promoting moral values of the students in university. Hairan Khattak also elaborated the core objectives and goals of university. He particularly apprised the participants saying that IIUI is playing very distinct role in different fields and significant contributions in the field of higher education, research and generally for society. He also made them aware about the admission process at IIUI. Harian Khattak also explained role and services of IIUI academies and constituents units in detail. Participants took keen interest in knowing details about university faculties and constituent units.
Later, the delegation also visited the university and its central library.
MAULANA FAZLUR REHMAN CONDOLES WITH DR. AL-DRAIWEESH OVER DEMISE OF HIS MOTHER

Maulana Fazlur Rehman, Chief Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam called on Dr. Ahmed Yousif President International Islamic University and expressed his condolence over the sad demise of mother of Dr. Al-Draiweesh. He also prayed for eternal peace for the departed soul that May Allah Almighty showers His countless blessings on her.
He also expressed his sympathy with grieved family and said mother is most precious blessing of Allah and death of mother beyond any doubt is irreparable loss which has no alternate in the world.
Moulana Fazal ur Rehman further termed Dr. Al-Draiweesh a sign of Saudi-Pak friendship which would further strengthen with his presence at IIUI. He said that he always appreciated and acknowledged the services of Dr. Al-Draiweesh and on various occasions mentioned it on the floor of the Parliament and other platforms.
Barrister Zafarullah Khan Tuesday called on President International Islamic University, Islamabad (IIUI) Dr. Ahmed Yousif Al-Draiweesh to condole on demise of his mother.
Barrister Zafarullah Khan expressed sorrow over the death of the Dr. Al-Draiweesh’s mother and prayed for eternal peace of departed soul.
During the meeting, Dr. Al-Draiweesh said that mother has no alternate in the world and he is working on book to pay tribute to his mother who always blessed his life with prayers and support.
Barrister Zafarullah Khan lauded Dr. Al-Draiweesh’s efforts and appreciated that he has addressed key issues of Mulsim Ummah in his narrations.
At the end, books of President IIUI and varsity’s institutes, academies books, were presented to the Barrister.
VICE CHANCELLOR UNIVERSITY OF SAWAT VISITS IIUI, CALLS ON DR. AL-DRAIWEESH

Prof Dr Muhammad Jahanzeb, Vice Chancellor University of Sawat, Sawat visited International Islamic University Islamabad and called on President IIUI Prof Dr. Ahmed Yousif Al-Draiweesh.
In a meeting, both the heads of institutions discussed various matters of higher education and mutual interest and vowed to cooperate with each other in respective fields. Furthermore, they also particularly discussed the lines to enhance and improve the scope of Quality Enhancement Cell with joint efforts. They also agreed to develop linkage between their universities and urged to materialize this through signing of MoU. Director Quality Enhancement Cell (QEC) IIUI, Dr. Muhammad Tahir Khalily briefed the worthy guest about the research projects and important achievements hit by QEC.
On the occasion Dr. Hafez Anwar Head IIUI Alumni and Dr. Suhail Hassan Director Dawah Academy were also present. VC Swat University also condoled over the sad demise of mother of Dr. Al-Draiweesh and offered Fateha and expressed his deep concern with grieved family.

Mother of President IIUI died few days ago in Saudi Arabia after protracted illness.
ACTIVITIES AT SHARIAH ACADEMY SHARIAH ACADEMY ORGANIZES COURSE FOR MUFTIES, LECTURE ON ISLAM & WEST

A three-month long training program for Mufties has commenced here at Shariah Academy of International Islamic University Islamabad.
40 Mufties across the country are taking part in the course, while its inaugural session at Academy was chaired by the academy’s Director Dr, Muhammad Munir along with Chairman department of training of academy Dr. Habib ur Rheman, Director Higher instate for Fatwa Studies Dr. Abdul Hie Abro , coordinator M. Asghar Shehzad and other officials as well.
In an orientation sitting participants were apprised about the objectives, schedule and nature of sessions by the academy officials.
Dr. Muhammad Munir, in his address shed light on role of Islamic scholars in the process of judicial developments in sub-continent and also discussed importance of Islamic scholars for guidance in legal system.
Dr. Habib ur Rehman and Dr. Abdul Hie Abro also spoke on the occasion and briefed participants about important topics of the course.
Meanwhile, the academy also organized a lecture on Islam in west where veteran scholar Dr. Sohaib Hassan of Islamic Shariah Council in London discussed the challenges being faced by Muslims in Europe. He also elaborated the role of Shariah Council in London and shared thoughts regarding perception of European people towards Muslims.
DAWAH ACADEMY: ISLAMIC ORIENTATION PROGRAM FOR IIUI STUDENTS CONCLUDES PRESIDENT IIUI URGES YOUTH TO DISCOURAGE VIOLENCE

A week long Islamic Orientation Program for International Islamic University, Islamabad (IIUI) students concluded here at Faisal Masjid campus.
The program was organized by Dawah Academy of the university in which total 40 students including Pakistani students and students hailing from Indonesia, Thailand and Afghanistan participated.
“Personal differences must be put aside to achieve goal of prosperous Muslim Ummah” said President IIUI while addressing the concluding ceremony being chief guest.
He urged youth to refrain from rigidity, violence and bias while he advised that youth must be involved in constructive activities such as dissemination of Islam’s message of peace. He furthered that prevailing situation demands complete implementation of Islamic teachings in Muslims’ lives.
IIUI President reiterated his resolve that IIUI being a top seat of learning would keep working for producing well balanced and harmonious leadership of Umaah by nurturing young minds in the light of teachings of Islam.
Dr. Sohail Hassan, Director Dawah Academy was of the view on the occasion that academy’s is playing vital role in Dawah for last 30 years and it would further enhance quality of its programs.
Course coordinator, Ehsan Maalik briefed on the occasion and told that as many as 31 sessions were held which include lectures, interactive session and many other constructive activities.
Dr. Al-Draiweesh distributed course completion certificates among g the participants as well.
WHO, IIUI DEVISE NEW STRATEGY FOR POLIO ERADICATION

International Islamic University Islamabad with coordination of World Health Organization and Prime Minister’s Polio Monitoring & Coordination Cell devised a strategy to launch a campaign for polio eradication. A 5 member delegation led by Dr. Naveed Sadozai, Medical Officer of WHO and officials of Prime Minister Polio Monitoring Cell called on President IIUI Dr. Ahmed Yousif Al-Draiweesh. The delegation discussed the various means and ways to chalk out new strategy regarding polio eradication campaign in Pakistan with President IIUI as the university has already been working for that campaign. It is worth mentioning that IIUI is a member of National Islamic Advisory Group (NIAG) and one of five International members of Islamic Advisory Group (IAG) working for polio eradication with coordination of WHO.
Delegation members appreciated the role of IIUI to excel polio eradication campaign effectively; they also sought more cooperation and support from IIUI in this regards. President IIUI said polio is very sensitive issue which needs to be uprooted. “Work for human betterment is always on top priority of the university, which would be continued with good pace” He also assured. Dr. Al-Draiweesh said Dawah Academy has compact training system that will be most appropriate platform to pace up polio eradication campaign; academy has been playing very effective role to disseminate true message of Islam.
President IIUI opined that academy would arrange 4 training courses of polio eradication for Aima, Khutaba and teachers which would be conducted in all provinces of Pakistan.
He also suggested a committee comprising members from WHO and IIUI who will supervise the whole polio eradication campaign.
Dr. Naveed suggested a MoU between both institutions for further coordination to gear up polio eradication campaign. He said that MoU would provide a complete road map to expedite and implementation of the strategy. He was of the views that IIUI has international exposure and student strength which can be best possible option to contribute in this noble cause for humanity.
TEACHERS FROM AL-AZHAR VARSITY SOON TO JOIN IIUI: PRESIDENT IIUI

A delegation of 11 members would join International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI) in the start of September and this development will help in further improving the academic excellence at the university, said President, (IIUI) Dr Ahmad Yousif Al- Draiweesh.
This he said on the occasion of his visit and meeting with the officials of Faculty of Usul-uddin (Islamic Studies/FIS).
On the Occasion, Dr. Al-Draiweesh was apprised by Deputy Dean FIS Dr. Haroon ur Rasheed regarding admissions, quantity of teachers and other matters of the faculty.
Dr. Al-Draiweesh said on the occasion that he is in touch with Al-Azhar high ups for faculty members and another group of teachers other than newly 11 Egyptian teachers has been vowed by Shaikh Al-Azhar.
Dr. Al-Draiweesh assured on the occasion that maximum cooperation would be provided to the faculty officials in terms of improvements in the academic excellence at faculty.
President IIUI stressed that faculty should prepare such a generation who serve not only the country but whole humanity.
He furthered that faculty is excellently representing the identity of the university as teachers and students from various countries are engaged in educational activities. He said that teachers should guide the students toward unity of Ummah, which is the need of the hour.
OWA HOLDS FAREWELL PARTY IN HONOUR OF RETIRED OFFICERS

Officers Welfare Association (OWA) of international Islamic University Islamabad organized farewell party in honour of two recently retired officers Muhammad Tabriz Aslam Director Human Resource and Haji Shamshad Ali, Assistant Director.
On the occasion, the officers’ body announces Umrah tickets for both of the officers and tickets were handed over to both by the President IIUI Dr. Ahmed Yousif Al-Draiweesh.
The farewell party was attended by President IIUI Dr. Ahmed Yousif Al-Draiweesh as chief guest while other IIUI officers and academicians were also present in the farewell party.
Dr. Al-Draiweesh, while appreciating the services of Muhammad Tabriz Aslam said that his service for 30 years at IIUI was a sacred cause as he served country and Muslim Ummah for three decades. He said that IIUI would remain in touch with him for his prudent guidance in the future.
He maintained that if a man performs his official duties honestly, his status is not less than accepted worship. He also thanked Haji Shmashad Ali for his untiring efforts and IIUI is proud of its hard working officials. He said that IIUI acknowledges the services of both officers and we pray for their further success in lives.
Meanwhile, a luncheon in hounour of both retired officers was also held at Faisal Masjid campus which was attended by President IIUI, OWA leadership and other officials of the varsity.
