The viva voce examination of Mr. Fakhre Alam, Registration No.499-FBAS/MSCS/F-08 is scheduled to be held on Wednesday, July 31, 2013 at 10.00 am. Dr.Sikandar Hayat Khiyal, Army College Rawalpindi, is the external examiner for the said examination. All the students are requested to attend the viva voce examination.
Kingdom of Saudi Arabia Embassy arranged Iftar Party at hostel five of International Islamic University Islamabad under the project of Maktaba Tu Dawah Islamabad Centre. The deputy ambassador of Saudi Arabia to Pakistan Jasim ul Khalidi, Director Maktaba Tu Dawah Islamabad Centre Abu Saad Mohamed Bin Saad Al-Doussri, Acting President IIUI Dr. Mumtaz Ahmad were chief guests at Iftar party. Provost IIUI hostels (male) Dr. Abid Masood, Deans and Director also attended the Iftar party. The Iftar party arranged for more than two thousands students.

Today is the last day of submission of admission forms for all academics programmes for post graduate, graduate and undergraduates “male and female” of Fall 2013 in International Islamic University, Islamabad (IIUI). The form submission date was extended for admission in all programmes of Fall 2013 upto July 26, 2013 from 12th of July.
The Central Library Staff of the International Islamic University, Islamabad (IIUI) arranged Qur’an Khwani and Dua for the departed souls of Late Ch. Yaqub Ali, Ex-Chief Librarian, Late Muhammad Siddique, Ex-Librarian, Late Sajjad Haider Kallu, Ex-JCC (Junior Classifier Cataloguer), Central Library and departed relatives of the library staff. The participants prayed to Almighty Allah for granting eternal peace to the souls of deceased employees.
The International Islamic University, Islamabad (IIUI) has extended the admission date of Fall 2013. The administration of the university decided to extend the date of submission of admission forms for all graduate and undergraduate programs due to heavy rush of students taking interest in admissions. The date for submission of applications for admission in all programs is now been extended up to July 26, 2013.
United Arab Emirate embassy arranged Iftar Party at hostel five of International Islamic University Islamabad under the project of Khalifa Bin Zayad Al Nahyan Foundation UAE. The deputy ambassador of UAE to Pakistan Mather Al Mansori also attended the Party with students. Acting dean faculty of Arabic of IIU Dr. Bashir Ahmed, Provost IIU hostels Dr. Abid Masood were also present on the occasion.
Iftar Party was arranged for more than fifteen hundred students. Under the same project there will be more Iftar parties in IIUI male and female hostels respectively.
TIMING OF NAMAZ-E-ISHA 09:15 WHILE NAMAZ-E-JUMMA 01:30 AT FAISAL MASJID
During the Holy Month of Ramadan, the timing of Namaz-e-Isha would be 09:15 while Namaz-e-Jummah would be offered at 01:30 at Faisal Masjid, Islamabad. According to the circular released by the management of Islamic Centre of Faisal Masjid, Imamat of Namaz-e-Traveeh would be lead by Qari Muhammad Ikhlaq, Qari Mufti Zia ur Rehman, Qari Muhammad Nauman and Qari Ehsan Ullah while Khatam-ul-Quran would be done at 25th Traveeh. The Urdu Khutaba in Namaz-e-Jumma during Ramadan would start at 12:45 while the Khutaba of Juma-tul-Wida would be delivered by honourable Prof. Dr. Sahibzada Sajid ur Rehman.
IIUI TO LAUNCH ZERO TOLERANCE POLICY AGAINST PLAGIARISM
President International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI), Dr. Ahmad Yousif Al-Draiweesh has said that students should conduct research work in a creative way, to make research more original; university would launch zero tolerance policy against plagiarism. This he stated during his address in a workshop, titled “Higher Education Commission policy of plagiarism and its software Turnitin” organized by Quality Enhancement Cell of IIUI at central library of the university.
Mr. Munir Ahmed Deputy Director (Quality Assurance Division) from HEC a focal person for all Pakistani Universities regarding plagiarism was guest speaker while workshop was also attended by Director QEC of university Dr Irshahd Ahmad Arshad Deans, Directors, faculty members and large number of research students of university.
Dr Ahmad Yousif Al-Draiweesh said that Plagiarism is kind of theft which is strictly prohibited in Islam and actor is to be considered to get punishment. “Ethically and morally, Plagiarism is worst thing that spoils the originality of work” IIUI President said. He urged participants to adopt a way of creativity in research work rather to copy others’. He assured that IIUI would follow the policy of HEC on plagiarism strictly. He added, in order to produce original and quality work, IIUI would launch zero tolerance policy against plagiarism. President also informed that currently university giving research incentives to the researcher and also considering for enhancing these incentives in future. He thanked QEC team for organizing such workshop on plagiarism awareness for the research.
Earlier, Mr. Munir Ahmed gave a detailed presentation on HEC plagiarism policy and briefed about complete roadmap of Plagiarism Prevention. He said that HEC providing maximum support to universities for doing proper research. In the second session, he briefly elaborated about Plagiarism software “Turnitin” and discussed all the different ways of checking and usage of software for doing proper research. He stressed that all faculty members must create “Turnitin” accounts to assist student for result oriented research.
Director QEC, IIU Dr Irshahd Ahmad Arshad also briefed the participants about Scholarships provided by HEC for Ph.D. He hoped that in future HEC will continue cooperation for improving quality of education in universities.
Faculty of Engineering and Technology of the International Islamic University, Islamabad (IIUI) holds prize distribution ceremony in the honour of its female students who secured distinctions and positions in 4th Annul Open House competitions. Brilliant students also got special appreciation from A.Q. Khan Research Laboratories in the form of Cash prizes to FET female students. Chairman AQ Khan Research Laboratories Ejaz Ahmad Mukhtar granted Rs. 78,000/- prize money, to female students in recognition of their excellent work in 4th Annual Open House. President IIUI Dr. Ahmad Yousif Al-Draiweesh was chief guest while Director Female Campus Dr. Zaitoon Begum, Dean FET Dr. Aqdas Naveed Malik, faculty members and large number of students were also present.
While addressing to the ceremony Dr. Al-Draiweesh thanked to all brilliant students whose efforts and hard working made great pride for university. He expressed immense pleasure to announce that international grant for the establishing new engineering labs and strengthen old one has also been received, and construction work would be started soon. He further said that our students have great potential to hit the career goals and aims. Dr. Al-Draiweesh wished them to utilize their abilities to invent something beneficial for the prosperity of Muslim Ummah. President promised to the students of FET that their demands and requirements would be fulfilled accordingly soon. He distributed the certificates, shields and cash prizes to the students at the end.
Earlier in his welcoming address Dr. Aqdas Malik said that we are highly proud of our brilliant students who performed worthwhile projects and outstanding work, inspite of limitation of facilities. He mentioned that our students work was highly appreciated and admired by all level. He said, external experts were pleased to visit open house competition. Dr. Aqdas highlighted the performance and achievements of FET and mentioned the requirements of FET.

The 32nd finance committee meeting held under the presidency of Prof. Dr. Ahmed Yousif Al-Draiweesh president of International Islamic University, Islamabad (IIUI). The committee profound discussed over the administrative and academic matters of the last financial year. In the meeting, the approval of 31st committee meeting was also granted to be implemented. Director General Finance Higher Education Commission Ghulam Mujtaba Kiyani, VP Academics Dr. Mumtaz Ahmed, VP (AF&P) Dr. Sahibzada Sajid ur Rehman, faculty and administrative departmental heads also attended the meeting. The departments submitted their performance reports and way forward for the bright future of the university.
The committee examined the demands of the departments regarding the academic and administrative matters according to the budget allocations. The committee also permitted to fill the vacant posts to meet the increasing number of students. Addressing on the occasion Dr. Al-Draiweesh appreciated the efforts of staff and wished them to continue their sincere endeavours for the cause of University. President also thanked to Ghulam Mujtaba Kiyani and HEC officials, who are truly engaged for the promotion of education in Pakistan. He said that HEC strongly cooperate and meet the due demands of IIUI. Ghulam Mujtaba Kiyani said that HEC would accomplish all the requirements to strengthen and uprising the standard of University.
IIUI TO HOLD SEMINAR ON “HEC PLAGIARISM POLICY & ITS SOFTWARE TURNITIN”
Quality Enhance Cell (QEC) of the International Islamic University, Islamabad (IIUI) is organizing a workshop on “HEC Plagiarism Policy & Its Software Turnitin” on Wednesday, 3rd July, 2013, 10.30 AM at Seminar Room, Central Library, Main Campus, H-10, Islamabad.
Resource persons of workshop will be Mr. Munir Ahmed Deputy Director (Quality Assurance Division) from HEC Islamabad who is also working as focal person for all Pakistani Universities regarding plagiarism.
In the first part of the session, HEC Plagiarism Policy will be covered whereas in second part, Munir Ahmed will demonstrate Turnitin software (Plagiarism Prevention Service). Deans, Director Generals, Chairpersons, Incharges, Directors, Faculty members and Research students will attend the workshop.
