Sulaiman Bin Abdullah Aba Al-Khail – Centre for Interdisciplinary Research in Basic Science (SA-CIRBS) of International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI) brought fame to the university by winning the innovative idea competition award organized by Islamic Development (IsDB).
The competition was organized by IsDB under Transformer Roadshow Competition to Solve Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) which was won by Dr. Mehwish Taneez and her MS student Ms. Rehana hailing from from SA-CIRBS at IIUI.
Teams presented their ideas to a judging panel from public and private sectors including, Dr Hayat Sindi, Chief STI advisor to the President of the IsDB; Yusuf Hussain, CEO, Ignite; Dr Fil Randazzo, CEO and Founder, Leverage Science; and Lars Kroijer, Founder, Allied Crowds.
The Islamic Development Bank (IsDB) has awarded four Pakistani innovators, researchers and entrepreneurs seed capital and business skills mentoring as part of its fifth edition of the Transformers Roadshow competition, held in association with Comstech. The Roadshow is a global initiative in which applicants are invited to pitch ideas accelerating one or more of the UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
Meanwhile, IIUI Rector Professor Dr. Masoom Yasinzai, during his visit to the centre, congratulated the team on the achievement. He said that IIUI is proud of its talented minds.
