Dr. Masoom Yasinzai, Rector International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI) has said that IIUI’s position among 500 universities of Asia in (Quacquarelli Symonds) QS ranking is a matter of pride. He emphasized on educational institutions to work for maintaining balance in teaching and research.
He was addressing here at a ceremony held to celebrate IIUI’s position among 351-400 universities in all the Asian universities. IIUI Rector said that recognition of Pakistani educational institutions in the world ranking was a good omen. He urged that universities must come forward to serve society and furthered that IIUI , in terms of serving society, has formed a Paigham e Pakistan narrative which has been recognized by all the nations even in UN. “We will not disappoint the nation, we will come with positive developments soon in the fields of academic excellence and quality higher education” said Dr. Masoom Yasinzai. He said that acceptance of the graduates in the market must be top priority of educational institutions.
Director QEC , Dr. saeed ul Hassan Chishti said that International Islamic University, Islamabad through its Quality Enhancement Cell (QEC) for the first time applied for the QS Asia University Rankings 2019 which involved data collection from various Departments of the University, data submission and follow up thereof. He told that IIUI has secured a position among Universities ranked between No. 351 to 400 by acquiring score as per QS-AUR-Methodology whereby it scored 13.7 on Academic Reputation; 21.2 on Employer Reputation; 40.3 on International Students and 44.1 on Citations per Paper.
On the occasion, a presentation on process of international ranking, points of scoring and key factors to be discussed in this regard, was also given by QEC officials.
The ceremony was also attended by IIUI Vice Presidents Dr. Aqdas Naveed Malik, Dr. Muhammad Munir, Dr. Muhammad Tahir Khalily, Vice President, Female Campus, Dr. Farkhanda Zia, Directors general, Deans, Head of the departments and other relevant officials.
