H.E. Professor Dr. Ahmad Salem Muhammad Al- Ameri, Pro-Chancellor , International Islamic University (IIU) and President. Imam Muhammad Ibn Saud University inaugurated the recently shifted Centre for Advanced Electronics & Photovoltaic Engineering (CAEPE) that has been established in newly built block at the new campus.
The Worthy IIUI Pro-Chancellor is on a historic visit to grace the 12th convocation .According to details, Prof. Dr. Ahmad Salem Muhammad Al- Ameri, during his visit inaugurated the CAEPE where he was briefed by Prof. Dr. Ahmed Shuja Syed, Vice President R&E, about the knowledge in Micro- and Nano-scale Engineering of Devices, Materials and Systems to enable solutions for Big Problems such as Connectivity, Energy, and Improving Quality of Life.
While inaugurating the CAEPE, the IIUI Pro-Chancellor said the work being done at this centre is the need of hour. He said expertise in nano- technology are vital. He said this will also help in bridging the gap between academia and industry. H.E.
The overall objective of the Centre is to establish a sustainable source of research training for developing qualified manpower with a focus on future requirements, and facility access services in these fields that are applied to the national needs.
The Pro-Chancellor was also accompanied by President IIUI Dr. Hathal Homoud Alotaibi who briefed him about the scope and nature of work of the centre.
Centre’s Indigenous Research Problems are focused to create knowledge in Micro- and Nano-scale Engineering of Devices, Materials and Systems to enable solutions for Big Problems such as Connectivity, Energy, and Improving Quality of Life. CAEPE includes Photovoltaic Energy Engineering Laboratories, Electronic Device Design Suite Model Simulation Laboratory, Device Processing & Fabrication Facilities and Device Characterization, Testing & Evaluation Facilities.
