A meeting of the committee on Strategic Plan Implementation was chaired by H.E. Dr. Hathal Homoud Alotaibi, President, International Islamic University (IIUI).
It was also attended by the Vice Presidents of the university and rest of the members Deans, DGs, Executive Directors, Directors and other relevant officials. The meeting focused to devise a strategy for implementation of the plan on priority basis while, valuable suggestions from committee members to achieve the targets were also obtained by the chair. The meeting participants discussed progress of the implementation of the strategic plan at the faculty and departmental level, importance and frequency of training regarding organograms and strategic plan.
Prof. Dr. Ahmed Shuja Syed, Vice President (R&E) apprised of the background of the committee, its previous efforts since inception and way forward. He also enlightened the house on the implementation plan matrix and role definition.
Prof. r. Nabi Bux Jumani, Vice President (A&F), IIUI on this occasion assured full cooperation, for successful implementation of Strategic Plan (2022-2026) of IIUI. He said that the faculties, departments and rest of the relevant quarters shall be provided full support and cooperation to expeditely complete their tasks in this regard .
Prof. Dr. Ayaz Afsar, Vice President (Academics) apprised of the ongoing communication and coordination with the faculties through his office for preparation and implementation of the strategic plan. Prof. Dr. Samina Malik, Vice President (female campus) apprised of the details of the meetings with the secretary of the committee and also shared the vision for the way forward on the implementation of strategic plan. Dr. Rehmat Elahi, Director QAD gave details of the trainings held regarding implementation of the strategic plan and also shared the future strategy.
Director Business Incubation Center, Engineer Ahsen Mirzawho has also been given additional charge of the newly constituted Strategic Plan Implementation Cell (SPIC) provided the committee of the overview and functions of SPIC. SPIC has been established with the approval of worthy president IIUI and has submitted an initial action plan along with letter head and logo to the higher authorities. In charge SPIC stated that the current team from business incubation center have been given additional responsibility to run SPIC and its key role is to ensure that strategic plans are thoroughly developed and implemented at functional level of the university. It was told that SPIC will liaison with all departmental focal persons and its team has developed a data collection template to ensure preparation and finalisation of departmental strategic plan implementation action plan, timelines.
The chair while directing for the expedited efforts regarding completion of the given tasks desired that the prime focus must be on complete and comprehensive implementation of the strategic plan. He said that university is heading towards right direction and it is being hailed globally for the recent achievement such as its ranking in 51-100 category in the religious studies across the world in QS rankings. He opined that consequently the strategic plan will help to improve quality, development, academic affairs and administrative affairs. President added that participatory and collective decision making in addition to collective wisdom approach would be adopted in departments and faculties for better execution and operations. In the end of the meeting, the President, IIUI lauded the role of the committee for its entire efforts regarding implementation of the Strategic Plan (2022-2026).
