IIUI HOLDS SEMINAR AT IUB ON YOUTH ENGAGEMENT IN LIGHT OF PAIGHAM E PAKISTAN

A one-day seminar titled “Nujawanan e Pakistan: Youth Engagement for peace building and perception management through Paigham e Pakistan” was organized at Islamia University Bahawalpur (IUB) by Islamic Research Institute (IRI) of International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI) in collaboration with the Department of Islamic Studies of IUB.

Professor Dr. Ahmed Yousif Al-Draiweesh , President IIUI was the chief guest on the occasion, while Director General IIUI Dr. Muhammad Zia ul Haq was the guest of honour. It was Chaired by Engr. prof. Dr Athar mahboob VC the Islamia university Bahawalpur. It was also attended by faculty, staff and students of the IUB.

The speakers emphasized that the youth should be engaged in healthy activities so that they can play a vital role in peace building activities. They opined that Islamic teachings are the best source to utilize the energies of youth as they can be the most importance force to disseminate Islam’s message of peace.

Dr. Ahmed Yousif Al-Draiweesh, President IIUI speaking on the occasion urged for spreading peace and love in the society so that sectarianism and terrorism and other negative attitudes be discouraged. He said Islam is religion of peace and scholars have a vital role in construction of the society. He also highlighted Paigham e Pakistan, its creation, dissemination and its appreciation in the country and across the world. He furthered that technology is the most important aspect that must be of prime focus at the universities. IIUI President added that contemporary compliance of the academic spheres of the country is a vital topic which must be discussed in proper manner in the light of global landscape.

On the occasion, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Zia ul Haq (DG-IRI) praised the efforts of the participants and encouraged them to stay united against the extremist attitudes. He said that youth has a special responsibility of the future of nation. He urged the Youth to join hands against stereotypical activities which portray the negative image of Pakistan.

Vice Chancellor IUB, Dr. Athar also spoke on the occasion and applauded the efforts made by the organisers in organizing such a wonderful seminar.
