IIUI HOLDS LECTURE ON IQBAL’S THOUGHTS

Islamic University, Islamabad (IIUI) organized a lecture on “Thoughts of Allama Iqbal” which addressed by the famous scholar Dr. Habib ur Rehman Asim.

Lecture held at new campus of the university was organized by Students Advisor Office of the university. Dr. Habib delivered a metaphorical lecture in which he discussed main objective and theme of Iqbal’s famous works Javed Nama. He discussed Iqbal’s philosophy of self and journey of recognition of universe. Dr. Habib elaborated the comparison Iqbal gave to Muslims between west and the values of east. He discussed the Iqbal’s teachings about nationalism of west and importance of Quran and Ijtihad in the lives of Muslims. “People have been put in uncertainty which is swallowing the creativity, lifestyle, vision and exposure to the self of an individual” said Dr. Habib.

He added that ethnicity, sectarianism are the products which have been injected by the lethal elements in Muslim societies, while knowledge and unity he said are the solutions in the light of the teachings of Iqbal. He urged that youth to acquire knowledge while saying that power without knowledge is of no use.

Dr. Aqdas Naveed Malik, Vice President, IIUI hailed Dr. Habib ur Rehman for a thought provoking lecture and urged the youth to broaden the circle of thoughts and read Iqbal. The event was also addressed by Dr. Tariq Javed, Students Advisor of the university who earlier thanked speaker, guests and participants for attending the event.
