International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI) delegation of academicians, scientists, senior faculty members , intellectuals and researchers participated in “International Conference on Islamic unity — the perils of labeling and exclusion” organized by the Muslim World League (MWL) in Makkah.
The delegation was led by Dr. Masoom Yasinzai IIUI Rector and Dr. Ahmed Yousif Al-Draiweesh IIUI President. Describing Saudi Arabia as the center of Islam, religious scholars and intellectuals said media attacks against the Kingdom offend more than 1.8 billion Muslims across the world. The scholars expressed their solidarity with Saudi Arabia on the final day of a conference.
IIUI delegation participated in the conference on the special iniviataion by Dr. Mohammed Abdul-Karim Al-Issa, Secretary General of the Muslim World League (MWL).
Other than IIUI Rector and President, the delegation included Dr. Mohammad TahIr Khalili Vice President Academics, Vice President Female Campus Dr. Farkhanda Zia, the Head of the University’s Hadith Department, Dr. Fateh Al-Rahman Al-Qurashi, and the Advisor to the President of the University for International Relations. Mr. Ashraf Abdel-Rafea, the Director of the distance education, Dr. Nabi Bakhsh Jamani, the supervisor of the affairs of graduates Dr. Hafiz Mohamed Anwar, Dean Faculty of Arabic Dr. Hafiz Muhammad Bashir, Director General Islamic Research Institute Dr. Muhammad Zia ul Haq and other academicians and experts.
IIUI Rector and President expressed thanks and appreciation to His Excellency the Secretary General of the Muslim World League Dr. Mohammed Al-Essa for his generous invitation and his support for the Islamic University.
Dr. Al-Draiweesh also praised the efforts of the Muslim World League to defining true spirit of Islam across the world and he added that all the activities of the league were well in line with the orientations and aspirations of the wise leadership of Saudi Arabia and its people.
He added that the convening of this conference comes at a crucial time where the world suffers from dispersion, disagreement, fragmentation, fanaticism and sectarianism, and the need for unity, harmony and peace is a prerequisite for maintaining peace across the world. He stressed for unity among Muslims with a blend of discouraging sconflict and sectarian strife.
He also praised the efforts of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, led by the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al-Saud, and His Highness the Crown Prince, His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz for peace and tranquility.
