H.E. Dr. Hathal Homoud Al-Otaibi, President, International Islamic University (IIU) Friday chaired a meeting of the committee for online education mode.
The meeting was also attended by Prof. Dr. N.B. Jumani, Vice President (Administration, Finance and Planning), Dr Ibrar Anwar, Dr Sheikh Tariq Mehmood, Dr Asma Mansoor, Dr. Sheraz Dasti, Dr Mehrosh Khalid and Mr Talha.
The committee deliberated various agenda items pertaining to online mode of education. Worthy President appreciated the efforts and preparation of the committee and assured of every support. He said that university is committed to working hard for delivering quality education and producing knowledge in line with the aspiration of Muslim world.
Dr. Hathal said that online teaching and learning will be a salient need of the education sector in future. He added that circumstances of global pandemic have doubled the importance of distance education and E-learning. He said universities must focus on the use of modern techniques of teaching and learning through distance education. IIU President maintained that universities must develop detailed policies and they should also adopt innovative solutions. He also emphasized that faculty must remain updated to the advancements of the technology.
