Office of Alumni in collaboration with Faculty of Engineering& Technology (FET), International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI), organized a seminar and get together at the IIUI Faculty Block-1. The seminar was honored by Alumni Chief Guests Engr. Danish Qayyum and Engr. Hamza Khalid (Faculty of Engineering & Technology).
During the seminar Engr. Danish Qayyum also shared his experiences and shed some light on not to focus on a full time job, opting for freelancing or using your skill set and expanding your horizons brings up more opportunities. He mentioned his struggle of working a full time job and how opting for freelancing projects led him to earn better and also get international exposure. He displayed his work to the students and showed them how things can be done easily in this tech savvy era. And how the international market acknowledges you for the efforts you put in.
The In-Charge of Alumni Office Dr. Hafiz Muhammad Anwar, talked about how valuable the Alumni network is and how precious the Alumni are to the University. On the occasion, Dr. Saeed Badshah, Head Department of Mechanical Engineering DME, FET, IIUI also motivated the students to learn from the experts to have a better perspective of life after graduation.
Engr. Hamza Khalid talked about freelancing and how this can be a good career and a better source of income. He also provided and advised the students how to apply for a freelance business through different online sources. During the Q&A sessions numerous students provided their inputs and also shared their freelance experience and got guided on how to excel in this field. The Alumni shared experiences and reminisced the old days at university and appreciated the department for arranging a networking and get together program. Among the Alumni were: Engr. Hamza Khalid (Graphic Designer), Ammar Khan (Schlumberger), Atif Iqrar (MS NUST), Waleedraza (Former Alumni Association President), Aqib Manzoor, Shahweez, M.Asif Khan (Lab Engineer IIUI).
