H.E. Professor Dr. Ahmad Salem Muhammad Al- Ameri, Pro-Chancellor , International Islamic University (IIU) and President. Imam Muhammad Ibn Saud University inaugurated a cutting-edge “Smart Weather Station” in the Department of Civil Engineering at the Faculty of Engineering IIUI.
This advanced weather station is equipped with eight sensors designed to measure various hydrological parameters such as rainfall, vapour pressure, etc. It offers valuable data that can be used by both undergraduate and graduate students for research purposes, enabling them to make accurate predictions about future weather conditions based on the station’s precise historical data.
The Smart Weather Station serves as a powerful tool for students and faculty to gain insights into weather patterns and environmental conditions.
Honorable Pro-Chancellor was accompanied by President IIUI Dr. Hathal Homoud Alotaibi and university Vice President. He lauded the vision of Dr. Hathal and appreciated the interest of IIUI faculty in advancements and research. He took keen interest in the project and asked questions about its micro and macro level application in future.
