Keeping in view the significance of Open and Distance Learning (ODL), the International Islamic University has decided to launch some programmes through ODL in different deptts. The deptts include: Education, Hadeeth and its Sciences, Tafseer and Quranic Studies, History & Pak Studies, Urdu and Persian. International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI) has already significant contribution in ODL as Dawah Academy and Shariah Academy of IIUI have been offering programmes/courses through Distance Education since long.
There would be a Directorate of Distance Education (DDE) which will manage all the activities and tasks relating to all the programmes offered through Distance Education mode. Professor Dr. Ahmad Yousif A. Al-Draiweesh, President, IIUI has assigned the task to Professor Dr. N.B.Jumani, Dean Faculty of Social Sciences as Project Director of the Directorate of Distance Education.
