Introduction of the Program

Teaching has been considered as a profession. Pakistan has developed National Professional Standards for Teachers. So to make a teacher professional it is dire need of time to educate him/her professionally. Higher Education Commission has recently introduced roadmap for teacher education, which includes B. Ed degree of one and half year duration after master degree (16years). The aim of this B. Ed (1.5 year) program is to develop the professionalism among the teachers and to develop educational leaders/trainers who can work with educational institutions as teachers.
Mission of the B.Ed program of IIU is the provision of challenging learning environment infused with Islamic and research based practices for the production of balanced and harmonious educational leaders who can be proactively involved in innovation, research and development of national and international community.
The main purpose of this program is to produce educational professionals that contribute to the field of education, share experiences and build academic acquaintance with the education community. So the target population of the program is those hardworking Post graduates having an urge for teaching, potential for caring out true research and wishing to act as future education leaders.
Program consisted upon 54 credit hour (6 credit hours for UR courses, 33for Core courses, 6 for pedagogical courses, 6 for Internship and 3 for Research project/Thesis)

Objectives of the Program

• After completion of this program, students will be able to:
• integrate content, pedagogy, research, and theory to build on experience and address individual areas of interest and need, while being responsive to the needs of students;
• develop knowledge, abilities, and dispositions with regard to teaching techniques, curriculum design, assessment practices for informed decision-making in the classroom
• enhance proficiency in teaching, learning, and professional development
