Industrial Visit – Attock Refinery Limited
An Industrial Visit to Attock Refinery Limited (ARL), Morgah, Rawalpindi was arranged by DME for students of batch Fall-2018 of BS Mechanical Engineering under the supervision of AP Dr. Adnan Aslam Noon and Lab Engineer Farhan Khan on 12th May, 2022. The visit was welcomed by Mr. Asif (Supervisor Training) along with his staff. Students were served with refreshment at Elliot Club of Attock Refinery Limited. After the refreshment the students were invited to tour around plant area of Attock Refinery Limited. Engr. Umar Farooq and Engr. Mubashar of Attock Refinery briefed about crude oil tanks, power plant, distillation towers, final product tanks, Health and Safety, and Operations departments. Students shown great interest in viewing technical capabilities and machinery/processes of the refinery.

Seminar and Walk Against Drug Abuse by Community Services Committee, DME
A seminar and a walk was arranged against Drug Abuse for the students by the Community Services Committee of Department of Mechanical Engineering on 10th March 2022 in the Auditorium, Block-II. The Seminar was arranged in collaboration with Anti-Narcotics Office (ANF) Rawalpindi. A team of ANF visited DME, IIUI and Brig. Ammar Ali (Force Commander, ANF Regional Directorate North) gave a presentation to the students regarding drug abuse and possible ways to avoid addiction of drugs. He instructed to the students that they must not indulge in any drug related activities just for fun as it may spoil your whole career. Later a question answer session was arranged in which force commander answered many queries related to drug abuse. At the end of the seminar, force commander along with his team, chairman, DME and students walked within the university to spread the awareness about ‘Say No to Drugs’ and distributed pamphlets to the students regarding drug abuse.

 

 

 

 
Community Service by DME Students
Students from Department of Mechanical Engineering, Faculty of Engineering and Technology, International Islamic University Islamabad arranged a community service campaign regarding the awareness of Traffic Rules on 27th DEC 2021 at Islamabad- Lahore Motorway Interchange in collaboration with National Highway and Motorway Police.

Engr. Naeem Khan along with students of Department of Mechanical Engineering and Mr. Imran Abbas, In-charge Mobile Education (National Highway and Motorway Police) along with his team per formed the following activates on the site;

  1. Lecture delivered by Mr. Imran Abbas regarding Traffic Rules and Safety precautions while driving vehicle on motorway.
  2. Distribution of pamphlets by the students to the drivers.
  3. Verbally awareness by students regarding traffic rules for the drivers on the motorways.
