DELEGATION FROM ZHEJIANG UNIVERSITY, CHINA VISITS IIUI

ZHEJIANG UNIVERSITY DELEGATION EXPLORES COLLABORATIVE RESEARCH OPPORTUNITIES AT SA-CIRBS, IIUI

A delegation from Zhejiang University, China, visited the Salman Aba Alkhail, Center for International Relations and Business Studies (SA-CIRBS) at the International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI). Led by Prof. Dr. Feng Ying, a renowned scientist in Environmental Sciences, and Dr. Sun Caixia from the Zhejiang Academy of Agricultural Sciences, the seven-member delegation from various research units of Zhejiang University arrived at the council hall of New Campus of the university.

 

On this occasion, Prof. Dr. Ahmed Shuja Syed, Vice President (Research and Education) at IIUI, briefed the delegation on the university’s research activities and the role of the Office of Linkages and ORIC. He highlighted the ongoing research initiatives of SA-CIRBS and CAEPE, expressing the university’s openness to all types of collaborations and commitment to academic excellence.

 

Assuring full support from his office and IIUI for research collaborations, Prof. Dr. Ahmed Shuja Syed emphasized the mission of IIUI to enhance research quality globally. He concluded the session by presenting the university shield to the Zhejiang University delegation, expressing honor in collaborating with Zhejiang University, China.

 

 

Dr. Ikram Ullah, In-Charge of CIRBS, provided insights into the main faculties, overall structure, and activities of IIU, emphasizing the research endeavors of SA-CIRBS and sharing his own research directions. The delegation expressed appreciation for the ongoing research at CIRBS, expressing keen interest.

 

Following a detailed discussion, Prof. Feng Ying presented the research activities at Zhejiang University, showcasing ongoing projects. She proposed the potential for a new avenue of research collaboration between IIUI and Zhejiang University, involving student exchanges and faculty visits. A formal Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for future collaboration was also discussed.

 

Two students from SA-CIRBS presented their Ph.D. research proposals, and the visiting scientists provided guidance and critical feedback for improvement. Subsequently, faculty members of SA-CIRBS explored areas of research collaboration with Zhejiang University.
