DEE HOLDS MAIDEN ALUMNI GET TOGETHER

Department of Electrical Engineering (DEE) in collaboration with the office of Alumni of International Islamic University, Islamabad (IIUI) organized the First DEE Alumni get together & dinner at new campus of the university.

The event was attended by Acting President and Vice-President (HS&R) Prof. Dr. Aqdas Naveed Malik, the Vice-President (Academics) IIUI, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Tahir Khalily, while InCharge of IIUI Alumni Dr. Hafiz Muhammad Anwar were also present on the occasion.

The get together comprised speeches given by the Acting President IIUI, on how the Alumni is essential to the institute and how both can benefit from each other and also benefit the current students of IIUI, Vice-President Academics praised the efforts of the DEE Alumni committee and how much the Alumni means to the institute and he looks forward for more of these events in the future.

Earlier, The Chairman DEE, Dr. Suheel Abdullah welcomed the distinguished DEE alumni and the guests. He briefly introduced about the progress and development of DEE since its inception, back in 2003. The In-Charge of IIUI Alumni hailed the DEE alumni committee and said that the effort has brought the IIUI ambassadors (alumni) back to home to be proud of their institution. He said that IIUI is proud of alumni and they have proved that the university has given best people to Muslim world. He reiterated his resolve that IIUI would remain in touch with alumni as this can further strengthen the pursuit of objectives of the university.

Alumni from different areas of Pakistan attended the Get-together, who worked in different sectors and fields of their professional lives, including heads of departments, corporate managers, consultants etc. Around 130 DEE Alumni & Guests attended the event. The DEE prestigious Alumni Dr. Mohsin Riaz, Academician in COMSATS University and Engr. Zain, Project Manager in Huawei shared their experiences and thoughts about the Alumni program, Prof. Dr. Abdul Jalil, DEE explained how the Alumni can benefit the institute in terms of ranking and how much this helps the current students as well, and also appreciated the efforts of Dr. Nauman Anwar Baig (In-Charge, DEE Alumni) for this most awaited event of the DEE Alumni.

During the event token of appreciations were presented to the Alumni of DEE, they were presented with shields from the Acting-President, Vice-President, Chairman DEE and the In-Charge of the Alumni Office.

After the event the guests and the Alumni of IIUI visited the DEE building and had a gathering at dinner, at the Teachers Club, where all shared their experiences and their life at IIUI.
