The closing ceremony of Arabic Calligraphy Course organized by Faculty of Arabic, Female Campus, International Islamic University, Islamabad (IIUI) which was presided by Dr. Moaid Fadhel, Associate Professor, Faculty of Arabic, was held at Auditorium, Female Campus of the University.
The ceremony was attended by Dr. Aliya Akram, Chairperson, Arabic Department, Dr. Abdul Qadir Haroon, Additional Students’ Advisor, Chairpersons of various departments of Female Campus, faculty members and a large number of female students of Faculty of Arabic.
Addressing to the participants of the ceremony, Dr. Moaid Fadhel gave brief introduction of Arabic Calligraphy and its types. He also told about the “Kufic” calligraphy and history of calligraphic art form of the various Arabic scripts and its development around the end of the 7th century in Kufa, Iraq, from which it took its name. He motivated students on their active participation during the course and also congratulated organizers for holding the course successfully.At the end of the ceremony, Cash Prizes and course completion certificates were awarded to the Winners and course participants. Dr. Abdul Qadir Haroon, Additional Students’ Advisor, also presented a crest to the chief guest.
