The three groups of BS Biotechnology students at Applied Microbiology and Biotechnology Laboratory (AMBL) of International Islamic University, Islamabad (IIUI) grabbed all top three positions in poster presentations in 1st National Conference on “Bioactivity of Phytochemicals” at Institute of Molecular Biology and Biotechnology, The University of Lahore (UoL).
The winner students included Sara Arif and Rubina R
iaz, Sobia Sunawar Rathore and Muneeba Bibi Qureshi, Areeba Tariq & Ayesha Zaman who were awarded shields and certificates by UoL VC.
Meanwhile, principal investigator to Applied Microbiology and Biotechnology Laboratory (AMBL), at Department of Biotechnology IIUI, Dr. Bashir Ahmad delivered a keynote lecture on “Therapeutic Applications of Metabolites from Extremophytes” at 1st National Conference on “Bioactivity of Phytochemicals” organized by The University of Lahore (UOL), Lahore. Mr. Syed Waqas Umar from AMBL presented his MPhil level research “Characterization of Plant Based Antidote against Snake Venom” and received the shield of appreciation.
Professor Dr. M. H. Qazi, the Vice Chancellor UOL and Professor Dr. Azra Khanum, the chief guest at conference appreciated the efforts of AMBL Research Group of IIUI for their contribution to cater the indigenous problems of the society.
