BARRA KHALED WINS 3RD POSITION IN SHARJAH PRIZE FOR ARAB CREATIVITY

Baraa Khaled Hilal, a student of MS Arabic at the International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI has won 3rd Position in Sharjah Prize for Arab Creativity.

Baraa won the position in the field of literary criticism, for His work titled “the Effect of Oriental Literature on Arabic Poetry”.

The Sharjah Prize for Arab Creativity, is the most renowned Arabic Prize in all fields of Arabic Literature including short story, novel, poetry, children’s literature, drama and Literary criticism. The Prize established in the UAE and held in a number of Arab countries, yearly since 1996, for unpublished books written by young authors up to age of 40 years.  The winner student will get a 3 thousand dollars, in addition to printing the winning manuscript; To be distributed and displayed in the Arab book fairs. The winners will also participate in a creative workshop that concludes with a tour of the cultural and academic landmarks in Sharjah.

Dean, Faculty of Arabic, Professor Dr. Fazalullah while felicitating Barra said that he deserves a lot of appreciation for bringing fame to the faculty. He said Arabic faculty is a hub of multinational talent and recent achievement of Mr. Barra is an example. He vowed that the faculty will be keen to promote such talented students who can be a source of making university’s fame and progress.
