IIUI mission is to transform the society by promoting education, training, research, technology, and collaboration for reconstruction of human thought in all its forms on the foundations of Islam.
The Office of Linkages is under the Vice President (R&E) Office. It is the Centre of the University and serves as a link between the University and other institutions nationally and internationally. The Office of Linkages works in coordination with the existing units of the university by establishing, managing, and sustaining collaborations on areas of mutual interest using the principle of reciprocity. These collaborations are formalized through the signing of Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on several undertakings such as faculty/student mobility for research, lectures and discussions, joint conferences, research engagements and programs, exchange of academic materials/publications, and capability-building activities, etc.

To expand the frontiers of international relationships of International Islamic University by coordinating its external relations to maximally exploit the benefits of local and global partnerships to drive teaching, research, and community service in line with the vision statement of International Islamic University.
Mission:
Our mission is to build the profile of International Islamic University nationally and internationally through partnering with high profile institutions in line with the mission statement of International Islamic University.
Act as the focal point for the academic and enterprise partnerships/ consortia in the form of national and international collaborations including but not limited to exchange of mobility programs, joint projects inclusive of staff development, joint events, conferences/ symposia, visits and sharing/ exchange of information & resource etc.
Record keeping and follow-up of all MoUs and collaborative activities as well as contribution towards University Rankings exercises with the pertinent data and evidence for external engagements/ linkages.
Development of futuristic plans for national and global engagement within the scope of IIU’s strategic plan.
Core Duty/Function of the Directorate:
In line with the overall objective of achieving the mission and vision of the University, the Office of Linkages is charged with the following functions:
Initiation, processing, vetting and finalization of National and International MoUs with other universities, industry & businesses, public & private entities/ organizations etc. for strategic partnerships with stakeholders and wider societal impact.
To identify and explore areas of cooperation and linkages with foreign and local institutions.
To promote academic cooperation with local and foreign Universities in form of students and faculty exchange programs, joint research, exchange of publication, sponsorship of conferences and other academic activities.
The Office of Linkages initiates, plans, implement and monitor linkage activities.
Roles of the Directorate:
Helping Departments and Units of the University to develop and nurture strong local and international academic linkages, Partnerships and Collaborations.
Developing and formalizing partnerships by signing Memorandum of Understanding (MOUs) and other agreements after necessary contacts and negotiations, in order to take partnerships from paper to reality.
Initiating, facilitating and supporting staff participation in international academic and research exchange programs for capacity building.
Promoting and coordinating activities and services with international exchange scholars and students, to ensure quality of international students experience and exposure.
Informing Faculties, Staff and Students of international resources and opportunities available at any point in time by assisting Staff and Students with information on the existing partnerships within and outside Pakistan.
