Welcome to the Faculty of Arabic, where your journey begins, and where learning knows no bounds. It is a matter of great honor for me to lead as the Dean, Faculty of Arabic at the International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI), the founding faculty of our esteemed institution. Our commitment to inclusivity is central to our identity.

The Faculty of Arabic is home to a diverse group of world renowned scholars from eight different Arabic-speaking countries—Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Syria, Iraq, Sudan, Algeria, Egypt, and Jordan—each bringing unique insights and perspectives that enrich our academic environment. This diversity fosters a vibrant atmosphere for learning, encouraging cross-cultural dialogue and understanding.
The Arabic language transcends ethnic and cultural boundaries; it has been a fundamental tool of learning and thought for the entire Muslim community since the advent of Islam 14 centuries back. Our curriculum reflects this rich and diverse heritage, incorporating Arabic literature from various regions, including the Arab world, Muslim Spain, and the subcontinent. We also delve deeply into the language and stylistics of the Holy Quran, enabling our students to explore its profound meanings and implications, and to appreciate its relevance in contemporary contexts.
At the Faculty of Arabic, we offer a wide range of undergraduate and graduate programmes tailored to meet the requirement of today’s dynamic job market. Objectives
To produce specialists in various academic sphere of Arabic language in order to promote understanding of Holy Quran.

To produce an ideal program for teaching non-Arab students as required by the studies of their environment with a view to their development of Arabic language and literature in their respective countries.

To develop the skill/knowledge of students in Arabic language as required by the Holy Quran and Sunnah (the traditions of Holy Prophet PBUH).

Participation and contribution for promotion of Arabic in Pakistan in view of its fresh importance in the wake of present drive to implement Shariah in the country. The Islamization of country’s Law cannot materialize without the dissemination of knowledge of Arabic language. In order to realize these objectives, the Faculty offers various courses in linguistics and literary studies taught by some distinguished members of Academic Staff from Arab countries.

Faculty of Arabic was established in 1989 for both male and female students. It is one of the finest seats of learning in Pakistan offering a wide range of academic and applied courses in the fields of linguistics, literature and Translation & Interpretation. The faculty is comprised of highly qualified national and foreign faculty members having extensive teaching and research experience. Several of our courses are deeply rooted in Islamic tradition of learning. Faculty offers specialized courses in the language and stylistics of the Holy Quran.

Being the language of Quran, Hadith and other Shariah sources, Arabic language has an extra ordinary status among the other languages in Muslim societies, along with its contemporary importance in the world. The establishment of this faculty came into existence to promote Arabic Language in Pakistan through the preparation of competent graduates who would be well versed in the language and who would teach it in Pakistani universities and schools as well as to help the students of Shariah & Islamic Studies in correct and deep understanding of Islamic sciences.

International Islamic University has a strong background in the field of Arabic language for about four decades. It has distinguished faculty members from different Arab countries with outstanding internationally recognized extensive syllabus and modern language labs fully equipped with audio video facilities.
