IIUI mission is to transform the society by promoting education, training, research, technology, and collaboration for reconstruction of human thought in all its forms on the foundations of Islam.
The Faculty of Engineering and Technology (FET) was established in year 2007 with Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (DECE) as its first constituent department. The Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering (DECE) already existed in the university under the Faculty of Applied Sciences. The foundation stone of an independent building block, namely Engineering Block was laid in April 2007, and inaugurated in July, 2009.
The present Electrical and Computer Engineering Department is one of the largest departments within the University with a thriving undergraduate and postgraduate student population of over 700. The syllabus is continually under development and review, in line with the requirements of various professional bodies (such as Higher Education Commission and Pakistan Engineering Council) that accredit our programs, and the latest technological needs of industry.
Vision
To become a nationally recognized Electrical and Computer Engineering Department that engages in the highest quality teaching and research, benefiting our students, our faculty, the University, the Nation, and society at large.
Mission
To provide an accessible, high quality, nationally recognized undergraduate and graduate education in Electrical and Computer Engineering that prepares students for productive careers, graduate study, and lifelong learning.
Objectives
The Faculty of Engineering & Technology is currently concentrating on the specialized training of manpower in broader areas of Electrical and Computer Engineering such as telecommunication, signal and image processing, controls and advanced electronics etc. The faculty aims to produce engineers of international standards so that they can also cater to the needs of the industry.
