IIUI SHINES BRIGHT IN PRIME MINISTER’S SPORTS TALENT HUNT YOUTH PROGRAM

In a resounding display of skill and determination, the International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI) emerged triumphant in the recently concluded Prime Minister’s Talent Hunt Youth Sports League program. The trials for squash and badminton, held collectively from September 17th to 20th, 2023, showcased the exceptional talent of IIUI’s female students at the PAF Sports Squash Complex in Liaqatbagh, Rawalpindi, and the gymnasium of NUML University, in collaboration with the Higher Education Commission (HEC).

 

10 IIUI Female Students Secure National Spots in Squash while in Badminton IIUI Claims 3 Spots in National Team. As per details, out of the 26 participants from the federal region, an impressive 10 female students from IIUI secured coveted spots in the national squash team. The selected students include Javeria Muqaddas, Areesha Komal, Aqsa Khan, Areeba Tousif, Fatima Sheikh, Bushra Yousaf Khan, Mishal Atiq, Rania, Bisma Noreen, and Hamna Nadeem Kiyani. Their outstanding performance solidified IIUI’s dominance in squash at the national level. While, in the realm of badminton, IIUI continued to shine as three skilled female students, Mishal Atiq, Alina Batool, and Javeria Muqaddas, secured spots in the national team, showcasing the university’s prowess in multiple sports disciplines.

 

During the Inter University Competition, IIUI Succeeded against Stiff Competition. The events witnessed fierce competition from female students across various universities, including NUML, FJWU, RWU, and others. Despite the challenges posed by these institutes, IIUI’s athletes exhibited unwavering perseverance and exceptional talent, surpassing their fellow contenders to secure their spots on the national teams.

 

Supporting the IIUI sports teams university, Incharge of Sports Department, Ms. Nadia Mukhtar, expressed immense support for the remarkable achievements of IIUI’s women players. She applauded their strength and passion, encouraging them to embody remarkable sportsmanship. Sports Coaches Ms. Ayesha and Ms. Sana Gul played pivotal roles in guiding the players to success.

 

On this occasion, Dr. Sumayya Chugtai, Incharge Female Campus of the university and Students’ Advisor, Dr. Sadia Saleem Cheema also acknowledged the success of IIU successes in sports events and lauded IIUI’s exceptional performance in the Prime Minister’s Talent Hunt Youth Sports League program reflects the university’s commitment to nurturing sportsmanship, talent, and perseverance among its students. The victories achieved by IIUI’s female athletes stand as a testament to their dedication and the unwavering support of the university’s leadership.
