TECHNICAL WRITING TRAINING FOR UNDERGRADUATE STUDENTS CONCLUDES AT IRI

First Training of technical writing for the undergraduate Students organized by Islamic Research Institute (IRI) International Islamic University (IIU) , Islamabad concluded here at Faisal Masjid Campus of university.

IRI has started Undergraduate, Postgraduate and Post Doctorate Training Programs for technical writing .
Rector, IIU, Prof. Dr. Masoom Yasinzai was the chair of the concluding session whereas Prof. Dr. Ayaz Afsar, Vice President Academics, IIUI represented the President of International Islamic University.

In the concluding session of the workshop, Prof. Dr. Masoom Yasinzai, Rector, IIUI appreciated the efforts of Islamic Research Institute for providing the opportunities to the students to enhance their skills. He also hailed the efforts of the Institute in Advancing National Narrative of Pakistan. He said that Pakistani Youth has ability to change the Pakistani society, but for that they needed to have skills, which is only possible through such workshops. It will help in their capacity building and will also enhance the opportunities for students for further advancement in the field of science and technology and in the field of research as well. He congratulated the participants and hoped that this training series will continue and he assured that he will continue to join these activities. Prof. Dr. Ayaz Afsar, Vice President Academics, IIUI conveyed the message of President of IIUI and assured that the university will continue to organize such training programs in future as well. He added, that contribution of IRI and particularly Director General, IRI, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Zia-ul-Haq is excellent and hoped that such training workshops will help students in enhancing their abilities. He added that Prof. Dr. Muhammad Zia-ul-Haq, Director General, IRI has transformed the institute and make it very active institute that is working for the reconstruction of Pakistani society as this is the main factor of the creation of Islamic Research Institute.

Prof. Dr. Muhammad Zia-ul-Haq, Director General, IRI briefed the participants about the IRI Programs and told the participants that training programs were proposed by the institute. He also apprised of thr main function of IRI since its inception in 1960. He said the institute started these programs in 1963 but later on these programs were suspended for long time. It was resumed on the direction of Rector of International Islamic University, Islamabad in 2018. In this regard, after covid again these programs have been resumed. In the first workshop the 40 students from faculty of Sharī‘ah and Law were trained on different aspects of research writing and technical composition. Moreover, the students were also trained about international scholarships, similarly, they were trained to handle complicated matters related to research and writing skills. They were also provided fundamental information about international scholarships to join the world reputed universities. The master trainers of the workshop included, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Zia-ul-Haq, Director General, IRI, Dr. Mohhyuddin Hashmi, Dean Faculty of Arabic and Islamic Studies, AIOU, Dr. Muhammad Ahmad Munir, Lecturer, IRI, Dr. Muhammad Islam, Dr. Tahira Ifraq and other renown scholars who have trained the students in Research Methodology. The concluding session of the workshop was also attended by Dr. Muhammad Riaz Mehmood, Associate Professor, NUML. Mr. Muhammad Kamran, Research Associate was the coordinator of this workshop.
