Professor Dr. Masoon Yasinzai, Rector International Islamic University (IIU) joined the weekly session of Inter Board Committee of Chairman (IBCC) “ Live with Vice Chancellor”.
In the detailed session, Dr. Masoom stressed upon students to make hard work as a salient attribute of their personalities. He reminisced his hard work and shared his success story that how he got scholarships and acknowledgment in the world known educational institutions within minimum opportunities available at his tribal native region.
He said hard work pays back and it is a key to prosperity and success. In response to a question, he apprised of the academic programs being offered at the university and elaborated the history, the background and network of International Islamic Universities. He told that IIUI is fastest growing university as it has crossed 30 thousand plus on campus students with almost equal ratio of male and female students. In response to another question, he told that university provides need based scholarships in addition to Bait ul mal, and other endowments for needy students. He said this is the age of interdisciplinary approach and universities must inculcate basics of dominant disciplines. He said educational institutions of Muslim countries should also focus on character building of youth in light of Islamic teachings as well. IIUI Rector also discussed importance of counseling at the higher studies level and quality research for building of society.
