IIUI TO ESTABLISH KASHMIR DESK AT FEMALE CAMPUS

 International Islamic University, Islamabad (IIUI) will establish a ‘Kashmir Desk’ at the female campus, said Prof. Dr. Masoom Yasinzai, Rector of the university.

This he said while addressing a ceremony organized in connection with Independence Day celebrations. On the occasion,  a cake was cut and a sapling was also planted by Dr. Masoom as part of a tree plantation campaign.

The desk will provide information and literature about Kashmir’s history, importance and  culture,  he said.  He furthered that the desk will also be a source of condemning atrocities being continued by Indian forces.The IIUI Rector called upon the global community to play a role for the rights of Kashmiris and people of Palestine.

Dr. Masoom said we must not forget the sacrifices and struggle of Kashmiris. He said Indian oppression and heinous crimes in occupied Kashmir must be stopped and world powers must come forward to save humanity.

The IIUI Rector stressed that the role of universities is vital to highlight the cruelty of Indian forces on innocent Kashmiris. He said the tyranny unleashed against innocent civilians in Kashmir has crossed all limits and it has endangered the peace of the region as well.

He said the Independence Day reminds of the unmatched sacrifices rendered by our forefathers to protect religious, cultural and social values. He said the day demands to promise commitment to pursue the objectives that led to creation of an independent Muslim state.

At the end, he called upon youth to work hard for the progress of the country while saying that youth has power to change the fate of the country. The event was also attended by Vice President, female campus, Dr. Farkhand Zia, Students’ Advisor, Dr. Nyla Jabeen, faculty members and other relevant officials.
