A meeting between Noor ul Haq Qadri, Federal Minister for Religious Affairs and Prof. Dr. Masoom Yasinzai, Rector International Islamic University, Islamabad (IIUI) was held.
During the meeting, IIUI Rector informed that Minister that IIUI, as per guidelines of the government, has stopped public visits and entry into Faisal Masjid. He added that keeping in view the spread of fatal coronavirus, only Imam and available limited Faisal Masjid staff are offering prayers in Masjid.
He said IIUI will be among forward ranks to act upon the government policy to defeat this fatal outbreak.
In the meeting, matters pertaining to religious education and role of educational institutions for maintaining peace and stability in the society were also discussed.
The Minister hailed IIUI for its services to Muslim world and added that university was providing quality education to the young minds in light of Islamic teachings.
He assured of full cooperation to university in the matters related to the ministry especially religious education. He said universities’ role is important amid this global pandemic and a responsible approach by the education sector is commendable.
