As many as 221 Thai students of International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI) flew back to Bangkok.
On the request of Royal Thai embassy 137 male and 84 thai female students were allowed to fly back after joint efforts of university and Thai embassy in consultation with Higher Education Commission and Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The students were in isolation at university hostels since the commencement of global coronavirus pandemic.
Director Academics, Syed Naveed Eshtisham told that students were issued fit to travel certificate by medical center IIU in consultation with HEC. Provost Female, Dr. Amna Mahmood told that students were happy to fly back and they thanked the administration for the care. She also appreciated Assistint Resident House Tutors Sara Anwer and Asiya Baloch for taking care of of all the affairs and ensuring safety at hostels.
On the occasion, Dr Abrar Anwar, Provost Male appreciated untiring efforts of RHTs Mr Imran and Mr Fida who took extra care of students at hostel and ensured every possible assistance.
Dr. Ibrar anvar, Provost male, Dr Amna Provost Female along with Resident House Tutors of male and female campuses and Assistant Director Acad, Hassan Shabir were also present to see off the students through IIUI buses.
