The President of Pakistan Library Association, Islamabad, Azim Khan Marwat has expressed complete solidarity with International Islamic University Islamabad and its administration. In a letter of solidarity written by the President, PLA, to Rector and President, IIUI, the Pakistan Library Association has showed its serious concerns over erroneous media reporting about IIUI Library. Affirming solidarity with IIUI, President, PLA described in his letter that media misreporting has the potentiality to make public at large believe and accept an untrue fact, but they must cross check the source and information to maintain attribute of accurate information.
Prof. Dr. Ahmed Yousif Al Draiweesh, President (IIUI) in a message, appreciated timely response by the Pakistan Library Association’s Executive body, for its fair expectations on probing the matter in authorities meetings and condemning the mala fide news dissemination in print and electronic media. He added that media has a great responsibility of revealing facts to the public and any fake news without authentications yields doubts on credibility of media.
