International Institute of Islamic Economics (IIIE) of IIUI organized a seminar on Islamic banking: perception and market positioning at male campus of the university.
A detailed lecture was delivered on the topic by Head credit Ops and Policies, Allied Bank Limited, Mr. A.J. Karimi who discussed salient feature of Islamic banking, perceptions regarding Islamic finance and its market positioning.
He also discussed in detail the history of Islamic economics and its revolution through phases. He maintained that Islamic Banking was interest free asset backed baking governed by the principles of Islamic Shariah. He elaborated the perception building of the Islamic banking in the perspective of theory. Mr. Karimi told about the bodies working for Islamic finance, its progress in Pakistan and also discussed new market segments through Islamic products.
The event was also attended by Director, IIIE Dr. Attiq uz Zafar, Dr. Khaliq uz zaman , Dr. Hajra Ehsan and faculty members and the students as well.
Dr. Attiq uz Zafar lauded the activity and vowed that the institute will keep arranging such activities in future as well.
