Around 700 people started observing Aitkaf at Faisal Mosque on Sunday.
Dawah Academy of International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI) is supervising the activities at Faisal Mosque, told Incharge Faisal Masjid Islamic Centre, Dr. Zia ur Rehman.
This year the IIUI received around 1,000 applications for Aitkaf, out of them, around 700 people reached on the given time. All applicants were asked to come to the mosque on Sunday with their luggage. They have been given special identity cards. Dawah academy is also arranging sehr o Iftar, Qiyam ul Lail and Lectures for faithful. Fiqah classes will also be held for them in addition to lectures from religious scholars.
