The first meeting of the Advisory Committee of the Center for Advanced Electronics and Photovoltaic Engineering (CAEPE) of the International Islamic University Islamabad (IIUI) was held in the Council Hall of the Administration Block (IIUI).
The session was presided over by the President of IIUI, Prof. Dr. Ahmed Shuja Syed, who also holds the positions of Founding Executive Director of CAEPE, Vice President (Research & Enterprise) at IIUI, and Convener of the Advisory Committee.
The meeting brought together eminent scholars and experts, including Dr. Mirza Habib Ali, Director (Research Support) and Member Finance at the Pakistan Science Foundation (PSF), Prof. Dr. Muhammad Zafar Iqbal, Pride of Performance Awardee and Sitara-i-Imtiaz recipient, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Amir, Director ORIC at IIUI, Prof. Dr. Imran Murtaza, a CAEPE Affiliate, and Dr. Gul Hassan, Associate Professor at CAEPE and Secretary of the Advisory Committee.
The proceedings commenced with the recitation of the Holy Quran, followed by a welcome address by the Convener, Prof. Dr. Ahmed Shuja Syed. Dr. Gul Hassan then provided a comprehensive overview of CAEPE, highlighting its remarkable contributions to academics, research, and the scientific community through funded projects, workshops, and training programs. The center’s achievements were widely acknowledged for their positive impact at both national and international levels.
The members engaged in an in-depth discussion on the Strategic and Action Plan of CAEPE, which aligns with IIUI’s Strategic Plan 2022–2026. The participants presented insightful recommendations to enhance the center’s initiatives, focusing on fostering innovation, advancing research excellence, and contributing to societal progress.
The meeting concluded with a vote of thanks, marking a significant step forward for CAEPE. The Advisory Committee is set to convene regularly to drive the center’s mission of advancing technological and scientific research at IIUI.
